?

I don't think you can blame the topic can you..is it the way it's used that is getting you?

It needs bedding down a bit probably

It seems unnecessary in every sense of the word

Mellow - I kind of agree. We're always on about our norks this and our norks that.
HD is usually a pretty good bloke on here. It just sounded to me like a throw away comment, nothing to get too precious about. He probably did it to wind us up (and what are we doing lurking in the men's room anyway )

Greensleeves · 03/08/2006 13:42

I don't like it either. It makes me think of toilets. Men's toilets.

beansprout · 03/08/2006 13:42

I agree. Blokes have always been welcome but my god, aren't there enough websites given over to the discussion/ogling of breasts without this becoming one of them?!!

zippitippitoes · 03/08/2006 13:43

no current affairs is unneccessary..as it duplicates in the news

the men's room is for men to bring up matters of importance/fascination to men

southeastastra · 03/08/2006 13:43

dumbfluff would sort him out

NomDePlume · 03/08/2006 13:44

Isn't it a bit pointless, the men's bit ? Do we have enough men on here to populate it ? It seems to just be used to take the pi$$ (which is fine by me, but it just seems wholly pointless)

Iklboo · 03/08/2006 13:44

In which sense of the word southeastastra?

JessaJam · 03/08/2006 13:46

agree with mellowma and iklboo and zippi...r-e-l-a-x...

KristinaM · 03/08/2006 13:47

I agree, men have enough sites to do thsi kind of stuff. I vote for mumsnet for women only ..sorry I know its sexist but thats how i feel

BTw I know it cant be enforced

Greensleeves · 03/08/2006 13:48

Oh, right, we're being serious

I don't mind the male MNers having their own topic if they want it. I just don't think it should be named after a toilet.

zippitippitoes · 03/08/2006 13:49

well I'm shocked you're all so harsh

Iklboo · 03/08/2006 13:49

Oh greeny - you should have come on as dumbfluff!

Greensleeves · 03/08/2006 13:51

I thought about it Iklboo

piglit · 03/08/2006 13:51

I preferred your other name Greeny.

Greensleeves · 03/08/2006 13:52

Are people suggesting we shouldn't allow men on MN at all then? If so then I completely disagree.

Or is it the existence of a "men's topic" that is contentious? I'm not clear what's being proposed/complained about.

I'm getting more and more mystified as time goes on..what's wrong with men?

JessaJam · 03/08/2006 13:54

mumsnet for women only
pile of bollox ( sorry, should that be 'load of labia' if we are generally seeking to exclude maleness from MN?)

NotQuiteCockney · 03/08/2006 13:55

If you work it out, mellowma, let me know. Very strange.

GS, I think people are objecting to the Men's Room area. Or more specifically to HD's recent kinda lame, but not actually offensive thread (by my lights).

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 03/08/2006 14:03

"I vote for mumsnet for women only"

...........so all those fantastic full time, or part time (like my DH - who doesn't post here BTW) SAHD's can just go to hell

NotQuiteCockney · 03/08/2006 14:07

I'm sure nearly everyone wants there to be men here. As if we could effectively block men anyway.
