Why do people use the app?? The mobile site is far better and on an ipad the full site is perfect.

Can we also get pictures on the app please?

Still not seeing the £ sign on it.

Tech are keeping an eye on this thread and working out the bugs. Keep posting to let us know what's been fixed / is still broken.

CatherineMumsnet the best thing Mumsnet Towers could do is somebody working there with an iphone, get the Mumsnet app and try and write a message with letters and also using non letter and number characters- e.g. the pound sign, the euro sign, an accent, an umlat etc.It just turns out to be unreadable gobbledy gook. It has been like this since you 'upgraded' the app over a year ago.

I gave up on the app because of this and went back to the mobile site.

Just wondered if the tech team were back at work after Easter and were looking at this?
It would make money threads sooo much easier to read.

Hello

Apologies for this. We've flagged it to Tech to see whether they can implement the fix they put in last time - we'll let you know their response when we have it.

Sorry Puddock - most MN things work in IE6 but there are a few things that don't; we fully support IE8 onwards I think (the most recent version being IE11?)

I get 'ampersand pound semicolon' for a pound symbol. On other people's message I get that weird string of sixes and threes.

Your pound sign shows up normally for me (Windows OS, Chrome, desktop site). How are you viewing the site?

Hmm. I'm on the mobile site on an iPhone, and can see the £ sign on some posts on this thread, whereas on others it is a little square.

Report
picnicbasketcase · 24/04/2014 11:41

I'm using the iPhone app. Pound signs have never worked on it since it was updated and all the smilies changed, as far as I know.
