Glad its not just me. I'll try some pound signs, if I may: 

I am currently posting using Internet Explorer of a version I don't know how to identify, but it is on a brand new Windows laptop.

I also post using an ipad mini, or an iphone 4 or an older windows laptop, using whaterver the latest version of Firefox is.

RowanMumsnet the problem appears to be on the iphone App.
Mumsnet was told overr a year ago and nothing was done. It was when you did a big upgrade before May 2013. Try it on somebody's iphone. There must be someone in Mumsnet Towers who uses one.
Sometimes messages do not make sense at all due to the glitch.

I've got am android and was using the app
I have now removed it from my phone and am using the mobile site through my phones web browser which is so much better
With the app I had am increasing number of stikied threads to plough through before I got yo active about 30 was the most
I also didn't get posts highlighted on different colours which made following posts difficult as I could tell the ops posts apart
I also couldn't see photos or click on links
Also couldn't post £ signs
I didn't like the app

I have an iPhone on iOS 7.1.1 and an iPad on iOS 6.1.3 and I can't see pound signs either

Ok, I'm on an iPad and an iPhone, both using IOS 6 (I think) and can see some characters but not others.

if you're having a problem viewing special characters, you're NOT on the app, and you're using an Apple device please tell us which version of iOS and which browser you're using, and whether you're on desktop or mobile.

if you're using the apps... we're really sorry. We know this has been a problem for ages. But the brutal truth is that we're not going to make any more fixes to the existing apps - because time that gets diverted to fixing the existing ones is time that gets taken away from developing the new ones, which we're very close to testing now.

March 2013 this problem was highlighted and a thread was started. Please, please fix it.
Anything other than letters and numbers, hyphens etc just will not work on the app.
