"Talk" links not working

Fiderer · 13/04/2013 11:54

I can't get to any of the Talk links - All Topics/Active/TIO etc. Not even from the homepage.

Can get to Active as it comes up on a new tab for me as one of the "most visited" sites. So can get to TIO and those I haven't hidden from Active but I was trying to get to OTBT.

Logged out & back in but still not working.

Am on laptop & Chrome.

Hello

Right, our techs have tried to replicate this error but haven't been able to - so we need you to help us out, please.

Could anyone affected go to supportdetails.com/, export the details to PDF and send them to us at [email protected]? (Sorry it's such a convoluted process.)

Thanks
MNHQ

IamtheZombie · 16/04/2013 15:43

alcibiades posted on this thread that a website checking site confirms that supportdetails.com appears to be down.

Ponders · 16/04/2013 15:45

ohhhhhhhhhhhh

that makes sense

thanks, zombie! I'll try again later

Fiderer · 16/04/2013 15:46

it's working now Smile

will send pdf if I can locate it (things get saved in random places sometimes...)

Ponders · 16/04/2013 22:22

found it!

& sent

MyCatIsAStupidBastard · 16/04/2013 23:17

Mine still not working. I'm on a kindle fire so can't send a pdf to that site. It was working on my lapto earlier though and i tried clearing my cache.

When i go to talk it seems the page stops loading half way so never gets fully to a state that it's loaded enough or any links.

Having said that i am an IT idiot so i.'ll leave it to tech

Fiderer · 17/04/2013 09:16

PDF sent.

Thanks for all your mails. We're having a look and scratching our chins. Hope to be able to sort you all out soon.

Ponders · 17/04/2013 12:35

Thanks, Helen Smile

Fiderer · 17/04/2013 15:43

Thanks, Helen.

My reporting it, btw, was more a "Have you noticed?" rather than "Tut, now it's all broken and haaaarrrdder". It's easy enough to navigate around thanks to Ponders poking my brain into action Grin

Any progress to report, HQ?

HelenMumsnet · 19/04/2013 17:42

Still looking into it. Sorry not to have been able to work out what's causing this yet.

IamtheZombie · 19/04/2013 18:39

Thanks, Helen.

MyCatIsAStupidBastard · 21/04/2013 00:10

Any news on this at all? It is a tad annoying i if i forget and go to talk directly and then get stuck.

HelenMumsnet · 22/04/2013 11:39

Morning.

We have a working theory! And we need to you to help us see if it stands up, please.

Have any of you have installed extensions that block ads or Google Analytics?

If you need a link outlining how to view extensions, try this one

Ponders · 22/04/2013 11:46

aha

yes, I have Do Not Track Me

but I've had it for aaaaaaages - long before this

'145,000 social tracking attempts blocked' today Grin

HelenMumsnet · 22/04/2013 11:47

Thanks Ponders

Anyone else?

Ponders · 22/04/2013 11:47

but I don't have it on IE & I have the same problem there...Confused

Ponders · 22/04/2013 11:50

oh yes I do - well, Do Not Track Plus - how extraordinary, I didn't install it!

& the total is only 705 blocked

but your theory is still standing up!

IamtheZombie · 22/04/2013 12:26

Zombie holds hand up. AdBlockPlus is installed, but is disabled for Mumsnet. Ghostery is also installed and active. Zombie has just looked and it is blocking Google Analytics. Both of those have been on Zombie's laptop for months and are only installed on Firefox.

Zombie can use the Navigation Bar in IE and Chrome. It's only in Firefox that it isn't working.
