Women presumably who don't have a certain sense of humour, or don't agree with certain (long standing) posters being described as beige admin workers who nag their ugly husbands, who were friendless at school, wear cheap clothes, have no fun in their sad little joyless lives etc etc Literally paragraphs and paragraphs of nastiness.

This is some of the most vile and misogynistic stuff I have ever read on MN from other women. These kind of comments normally come from trolls and MRA invasions. Is this really what MN has become? Does everyone think that this sort of shit should stand? What happened to the fucking sisterhood?

I am astounded to be quite honest.

I can't work out what I think about this as I sort of like everyone (because I can't remember who is who apart from one utter bastard who I mentally stab everytime I see their name on screen) but I do know that when I saw Katie Price dressed up as a porno horse I honestly thought that I would never again see anything quite so extraordinary in my lifetime

CotherMuckingFunt · 30/03/2013 18:03

I have it on good authority that getorf is a stunner.

Sparklingbrook · 30/03/2013 18:03

Oh and Kevin Bacon does it for me so make of that what you will. He can look at my everything everywhere whenever he wants.....

cestlesautres · 30/03/2013 18:03

There is another debate to be had: is reporting posts and threads a good thing or a bad thing?

MissAnnersley · 30/03/2013 18:04

Am really quite drunk Hully. I shared two bottles of wine and had two vodkas and tonic, so am more shit faced than feisty.

lemonmuffin · 30/03/2013 18:04

Echoing Mcballs and Cestlesautres.

Thanks for this thread Porto. Needed saying.

BIWI · 30/03/2013 18:05

But why not say it on the actual thread?

cestlesautres · 30/03/2013 18:05

You had the balls to do it on-thread, lemonmuffin.

lemonmuffin · 30/03/2013 18:06

It's full!

And this thread is now more relevant

BIWI · 30/03/2013 18:07

But that's what I don't get, cestlesautres. Why does anyone need 'the balls' to post on a thread? What do people think is going to happen if you post to disagree? You're behind a screen in your own home!

lemonmuffin · 30/03/2013 18:07

That was to BIWI btw.

Thanks Cestlesautres, didnt get too far unfortunately.

Pagwatch · 30/03/2013 18:08

MissAnnersley
You don't have to limit yourself, you can be shit faced and feisty
Grin

I want to mention that I had three caipirinhahahahahas but I am concerned I might start the whole shit loop off again

Portofino · 30/03/2013 18:08

The thread was full BIWI other wise I would have.

nenevomito · 30/03/2013 18:09

I can tell you that both Porto and Fenton are incredibly beautiful. They've both at some time sent me chocolate.

This makes them beautiful to me. my flab, not so much

nenevomito · 30/03/2013 18:10

To be fair, anyone posting in dissent on the original thread would have been told they were a humourless po who didn't get the joke.

Portofino · 30/03/2013 18:11

.I think you are seeing me through Cadbury tinted glasses BH [bugrin]

OP posts:
BIWI · 30/03/2013 18:11

It's a sort of general question, though, lemonmuffins (I know that thread is full, although there is a second one, still going ...)

I've seen people say it before, that they don't have the nerve to post on a thread. Why?

And even worse, when people start sending PMs to people. That's even worse. I really don't understand why people do that rather than post their own opinion publicly.

lemonmuffin · 30/03/2013 18:12

BIWI - you know that saying 'sticks and stones may break my bones' etc etc....

Not true. People get hurt by things that are said on here. That's why.

BIWI · 30/03/2013 18:12

So what if people tell you that? You've still put forward your point of view.

Pan · 30/03/2013 18:13

Thread was full BIWI and the second one was sort of un-hitched from the first. And iirc it wasn't designed for just anyone to post on.

MissAnnersley · 30/03/2013 18:13

I'm getting worried about a hangover starting soon so I think I may have to pop round to the shops for another bottle. Grin

I have a couple of mini bottles of fizz in the fridge which might keep it at bay for the moment.

What are caipirinhas?

Portofino · 30/03/2013 18:13

I got PMs last night from people who felt bullied off threads. That is so sad. Why cannot we be supportive of one another?

OP posts:
Pan · 30/03/2013 18:14

PMs re bullied - yes, I got them last night as well. fwiw.

Oh yes, lemon, I really understand that, and I know what you mean. It isn't just words on a screen.

But nevertheless, if it's an issue that you feel really strongly about - as many do on this thread about The Other Thread - then why not say what you think? Argue your case.
