Women presumably who don't have a certain sense of humour, or don't agree with certain (long standing) posters being described as beige admin workers who nag their ugly husbands, who were friendless at school, wear cheap clothes, have no fun in their sad little joyless lives etc etc Literally paragraphs and paragraphs of nastiness.

This is some of the most vile and misogynistic stuff I have ever read on MN from other women. These kind of comments normally come from trolls and MRA invasions. Is this really what MN has become? Does everyone think that this sort of shit should stand? What happened to the fucking sisterhood?

I am astounded to be quite honest.

Hully, I save my ire for the benefit bashers and love LeQ posts for the humour and paint tips Wink

My ex once hid a present from the OW in one of the compartments in our Picasso. That was a speshul moment all on its own. Grin

Ahhh, but I now see I am only being name-checked by The Usual Suspects. Fair enough. I suspected as I wrote it, that The Usual Suspects would snatch up my post with glee, and run amok with it.

This sentence alone suggests that you absolutely knew while you were typing it that it would cause a massive reaction. That, to me, looks rather like a goading attempt. Prod prod prod and people will snap.

KatieScarlett2833 · 30/03/2013 10:44

Handbag compartment you say?
Half looking for a new car, will check out a Picasso.

Chubfuddler · 30/03/2013 10:45

Here we go.

This is what it's really about. People who are offended/angry by their own perception that done posters are favoured by hq, or think that they should be. Hence all the royalty/mean girls/head girl chippy shit that pops up whenever hully posts a thread that turns into japes and chat.

This is all total bullshit. No one gets preferential treatment. There is no clique (although there is no good reason why there can't be - there are loads of quiches on MN and no one cares about them).

Some people just like each other and post random crap. No one else has any reason to be offended by that. You could just join in. Or if you find hully and what you perceive to be her "gang" contemptible you could just ignore them.

Arisbottle · 30/03/2013 10:45

We can't find out sat nav, our Renault has compartments - just occurred to me that is where it probably is. We have been looking for it for weeks. thanks.

I am interested in who the Usual Suspects are meant to be. As far as I am aware I posted my own opinion that I read a thread that had some very nasty comments in it. I mentioned no names, i did not even link to the thread in question.mTake issue with me over that by all means. But do not try to throw in that I thought the comments were vile because there is something lacking in me, or my life, or that I need a posse to back me up.

I had a Citroen AX many years ago. It was wonderful- it had a handbag shelf and wine bottle holders in the doors. I loved that car.

laQueen is perfectly capable of saying very nasty things indeed. I'm sure she would not deny it.

Not sure why it's worth a whole thread, though!

Tortington · 30/03/2013 10:54

there absolutley is witch hunting - this is bullying. and it should be remnembered that bullying is not what peoples intentions are - it is what is percived.

I have been the victim of a couple of witch hunts in my more prolific days. I would even venture to say that the higher profile you are - the more likley you are going to be a target.

Its really not nice, and it matters not how much you say that it's just words on a screen, it can leave you in tears. when a witch hunt takes place.

this (for me) is different than having a stalker troll. I had one who called me personal names based on pictures i had on my profile - that, didn't actually bother me half as much.

Post moldy was interesting times, when they all changed their names and went to a different forum to chat, they seemed fascinated with me - as they should be really, i'm clearly awesome.

the point is mumsnetters great and small can be victims of or party to bullying and not realise it, there is an absolute pack mentality, i've seem it many times.

mrsbungle · 30/03/2013 10:54

Shock wine bottle holders?! How marvelous. I thought my car was fancy 'cause it has a sunglasses compartment.

YellowandGreenandRedandBlue · 30/03/2013 10:54

I have started searching and it will take ages! Why did i say i would find examples! But I will have a look.

If I can't find it I shall have to eat humble pie....

Lizzylou · 30/03/2013 10:56

MN is at it's best when it self-moderates and posters can say when they find posts offensive/goady or whatever.

That is not jumping on the bandwagon or bullying or being part of a clique.

If it is written on MN, in any area of the board a post will be read and can be commented on. It's all in the public domain.

cestlesautres · 30/03/2013 10:57

YellowandGreen, don't rise to the bait, don't waste your time searching. You've got better things to do with your life.

TrampyPanterNoster · 30/03/2013 10:57

And, of course this about people being upset with MN royalty etc [buhmm]

I couldn't give a rats nadge about MN royalty, I've been here long enough and I'm adult enough to know which posters I like, and which I'm better off avoiding. I agree with Lizzylou's post. It was a wanky thing to say/post. everyone does it, the thing is how you deal with it when you are pulled up. I've posted plenty of tosh in my time, and when I'm wrong I will hold my hands up and accept that I've been a twat. Instead of crying about haterz etc.
