In response to your mucho confusion Rebecca - there won't be. Nobody would know. You would only have missing posts on your own threads - it won't effect anyone else's.

Mind you, if we are talking about what is or isn't very mumsnet, I would say that 80% of AIBU completely goes against the MN ethos of helping parents nowadays.

I would love guest moderation. I would create a topic called Cunty Corner and shove a load of threads in there.

I would also permit a 'name the MNers you loathe' thread with a complete amnesty on deletions.

I would be a terribly reasonable guest moderator.

We should have a real life 'delete' button like in Doctor Who so the annoying posters are TAKEN OUT and exploded remotely. Much more satisfying. Even if we don't get to hear the squelch, we would hear about it in the news and could nod knowingly as the authorities tried to work out what the fuck had happened.

Justine's justification doesn't make sense because it's an option for individual posters, part of our customising toolbar whatever. It's not like that poster's contributions will be deleted for everyone, just for individuals.

I bet it would cut a lot of the pointless argybargy. Probably lead to less work for MNHQ having to delete threads that ascend to the worst personal attacks.
