MN allows racism to stand

I have reported it 3 times today, 1 before 9am.
Heard nothing from them.

Um. I do think that MNHQ are likely busy after the TREMENDOUS event of the weekend and a report about someone calling French 'frogs' is likely not going to be top of the to do list.

Rude, possibly xenophobic (depending on content) - yes.

Racist - no.

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 16:56

would it be ok to say, "mad as a box of French people?" would that be better?

Or "mad as a patisserie of French people?"

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 16:56

Ahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa

Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 16:56

XP with ever so diplomatic HelenMN

It's an expression. It's not racist. You fruit loop.

VirginiaDare · 13/11/2012 16:58

It's about actual frogs, you dingbat!

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 16:58

Other posters, like I do, sometimes do a search if the op is new and upset about something.
The op herself said she had only made 3 previous posts.
One of those posts mentioned that her children were in the french education system.
It is going to be a bit naive to think that mentions of boxes of frogs, and frogs were not remotely to do with this.

There is no racism in 'mad as a box of frogs' Confused

Frogs are amphibians and don't have a race.

It's a common, everyday term meaning - "goodness, look at that box of frogs being all mad and boingy like".

Greensleeves · 13/11/2012 16:59

She called her a dingbat! Miiiiisssssss!

Busted

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 17:00

What about cheese eating surrender monkeys?

Where do we stand on that?

BornSour · 13/11/2012 17:00

Sorry, xpost.

I don't check anyone's posting history before I reply to a thread.

You'd have to be mad as a box of frogs to go that.

MmeLindor · 13/11/2012 17:00

'Mad as a boîte de grenouille'

Do the French use the expression 'mad as a box of bulldogs' about the British?

That's daft, amillion.

If I were to search every posters history for potential to be offended, I'd never get aound to posting anything.

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 17:03

Don't be such a dingbat. You are drawing rather spurious assumptions based on the way your own terminally offended mind works.

Croaky!

MrsCampbellBlack · 13/11/2012 17:03

Golly mad as a box of frogs is surely a pretty tame insult isn't it?

So just to clarify we can call someone a c word but not a frog? In the non-french person sense more the likes to sit on lily pads sense?

It bloody WAS. I have no idea why the hell I was awake and mumsnetting at 6am on a Sunday but I was thrilled in any case.

PAG are you coming to the meet up? I can't see your name on the list.

MmeLindor · 13/11/2012 17:05

I have have German family and expect everyone who posts on MN to know this and DON'T MENTION THE WAR in case I get upset. You can damn well add it to your spreadsheets.
