I have reported it 3 times today, 1 before 9am.
Heard nothing from them.

I believe they were expressing hatred or hostility.
I agree to differ with you and others on this point.

How the jeffers do you decide that they did search? By the same psychic powers that told you what Tee was thinking when she expressed the exact opposite?

AsMadAsABoxOfFrogs · 13/11/2012 20:48

MmeLindor has put it better than any of us...

I suspect it will go in one ear of the OP and out of the other... With that I leave the thread and must remember to name change! Grin

LtEveDallas · 13/11/2012 20:48

No, you agree to differ with EVERYONE ELSE on this point.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2012 20:49

MmeLindor, good post. BUT. frogs even in ref to the French is, depending on tone, relatively lighthearted. Worse, imho, is the oft repeated cheese eating surrender monkeys, which makes my blood boil. I don't know any french people who would be offended by frog.

MmeLindor, that is my point.
I believe they did search.
I agree to differ with you and others on this point.

why? what gives you that impression? and even if they did, how do you know that they had a hidden intention?

honestly, you are being ridiculous.

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 20:49

I do not agree I got it wrong.
Am bored of saying it.
Good night from me to this thread [I think].

FunnysInLaJardin · 13/11/2012 20:49

lols at MmeLindors very concise explanation. OP do you geddit yet, do you do you?

ScrambledSmegs · 13/11/2012 20:49

Amillion, that is a strangely suspicious attitude you have.

Do you always see bad intentions where they don't exist are not visible to others?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 13/11/2012 20:49

So ... they were expressing hatred or hostility (you think, being ignorant of the meaning of the phrase 'mad as a box of frogs'). Yet you think this can't be xenophobia and that's 'irrelevant', and it must be 'racism'.

Confused

Why are you assuming you know the races of everyone involved?

Or are you in fact making assumptions that you know the races of everyone involved (which is quite a racist thing to do)?

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 20:49

oooh, and we're running away are we?

MmeLindor · 13/11/2012 20:50

amillion
but even if they did search, the expression 'mad as a box of frogs' has absolutely no xenophobic connotations.

It does not express hatred of French people.

A slight dislike of frogs (slimy green things) perhaps.

Chubfuddler · 13/11/2012 20:50

As you've twice appeared to have taken offence in someone else's behalf when none was intended or felt, how about you keep your nosey nose out? Because your antennae for the reportable seems to be little wonky.

frogs arent slimy Shock they are cold and smooth.

and bouncy.

IvorHughJanusAndABulgingSack · 13/11/2012 20:51

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY SEARCHED?????

You are distracting me from Masterchef Hmm

I have never, ever in all my yonks of MNing ever done a search on someone's posting history. Never. I'm just not that interested. I care not. I don't troll hunt and I don't stalk. There is no necessity for doing one, I don't even know why it's an option to do so. Just because it's a hobby of yours doesn't mean it's something anyone else actually does!

amillionyears · 13/11/2012 20:52

One last thing, I hope.
I will look more into the differences between
race
nation
ethnic
xenophobia

Thing is, if Mumsnet has an inbox which takes 6 hours to work through, presumably they won't know until they open them what each one is about, so it could be difficult to prioritise racist attacks.

MmeLindor · 13/11/2012 20:53

Petite
Yes, that is true, but a Brit might presume that French would be offended at being referred to as frogs if she were determined to be offended on their behalf

Did you lot all bully Tee? You nasty rotters.

BlameItOnTheCuervHoHoHo · 13/11/2012 20:53

I would LOVE amillions psychic powers.

mme, when you said that frogs were slimy, what you actually meant was that you would like a cup of tea.

usual, when you asked if it was your fault, what you really meant was that mince pies are yummy.

LRD, you dont actually like dragons. or feminism. you are a kitten smuggler.

MaryZezItsOnlyJustNovember · 13/11/2012 20:53

Rusty, I suspect they have some sort of system that if the same post is reported a gazillion times, or the same thread elicits a number of reports, it maybe gets prioritised.

I don't know, I'm just speculating.

Using that scenario, a post that is only reported by one or two people will take a lot longer to reach the top of the pile.

WildThong · 13/11/2012 20:54

I thought chickens were vegetarians?

MmeLindor · 13/11/2012 20:54

Rusty
I would imagine if a truly racist post was on MN, then it would not just be one frog lover poster who reported it, but a whole shebang of reports would flood their mailbox, so that it would be deemed worthy of taking a peek.

Northernlurker · 13/11/2012 20:55

OP - seriously - are you drunk?
