Could we have a emoticon?

I would likea Judge's Chambers, somewhere that I can hoik my judgy pants up about certain things just to vent. There are lots and lots of things I am non-judgey about, and a couple of things I am, that doesn't make me an awful person.

Slubberdegullion · 25/02/2012 19:50

There is a quiche topic already. It's called Off The Beaten Track.

Outdoorsy shite topic please mnhq.

Apart from that everything is perfectly wonderful.

Honeydragon · 25/02/2012 19:51

But if the quiches all wound up in a dungeon people wouldn't stumble across them, and there would even MORE threads about quiches and then a whole new load of quiches would be born in active convos and then more threads would start saying, quiches get into the quiche dungeon, best leave quiches floating around quietly ensnaring victims welcoming new posters into the fold.

  1. Please number the posts on each thread. On another forum I use the posts are numbered so I know how many posts have been added after the last time I looked or the last time I posted.
  1. A laugh emoticom. It might prevent some posts from being taken the wrong way.
  1. Spellcheck.
  1. A better search function.
QuintessentialyHollow · 25/02/2012 19:58

They should ban that QuintessentialShadows, and any of his/ her variations.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 25/02/2012 20:00

Make name changing easier - loads of people do it just for fun eg seasonally

  • But I've noticed if I change my name my profile page becomes unaccessable.

Maybe you could have options for whether it's a more serious name change or whether it's just for fun ( and not a fresh start of any kind ) HTH

More emoticons and more seasonal variations - I like my emoticons Grin Thanks

dearprudence · 25/02/2012 20:01

Fewer topics, I think. And no quoting, but I think this one has been discussed and dismissed before.

I like the idea of more explanatory deletion messages.

QuintessentialyHollow · 25/02/2012 20:03

Randomly forced name changes on a regular basis, just to make it more interesting.

Bunbaker · 25/02/2012 20:07

Why no quoting dearprudence. If it is a long thread and someone is replying to an earlier post it makes more sense.

PutThatCatOutNow · 25/02/2012 20:12

Usernames expiring every 6 months - year so as to prevent there being such an obvious heirachy of well know posters and newbies.
Not that I am a bitter unknown newbie or anything Wink

nailak · 25/02/2012 20:17

View thread from last read post or from last post from you option.

Quoting would make the threads a real mess, IMO. I've been on forums where there is quoting, and you just lose the gist of the conversation.

Copy and paste works just as well IMO.

WednesdayWeek · 25/02/2012 20:26

second the flowers, possibly the bear, although I do like real bears. Definitely use of tick button for 'hiding' threads would be great, I get really arsey everytime I hide a thread and then it refreshes the page. I would like a choice of using avatar or not. Surely you could have 'disable avatars' if you didn't want to see them. I'm sure I would recognise more posters if we had that facility. Btw I don't mean tickers or any of that shite, just a simple avatar.

Another good thing would be a contact address, for MNHQ to keep for times when intervention is necessary, ie desperate members needing urgent help/assistance. Ok maybe that's going a bit ott but at times I wish it was a facility.

Honeydragon · 25/02/2012 20:34

Brilliant idea!

Honeydragon · 25/02/2012 20:35

S'alright took it as an accurate observation rather than insult Wink

I'd like a car topic please. At the moment most car-related posts are in chat and then disappear. I think it would be helpful to be able to refer back to solutions to car problems.

And an edit post option, but no quoting - it takes up too much space.
