I just started a thread in AIBU asking pro-choice MNers to read an article and email their MPs, it has disappeared.

Why is that? There was no abuse, no argument, no selling, no advertising. I haven't received an email explaining the decision. Is this moderation or censorship? Can you explain please?

oh god dont do that, the MP wont see it their researcher will have to go through endless identical emails and write back. Then inevitably receive another email asking why all responses have been identical. Possibly because you havent taken the time to write your own letter.

Pan · 29/08/2011 18:33

if it helps it was in the Mumsnet Campaign Section.

Will email MNHQ re the request for an MN Voice in the evictions decisons. This should be easy to act on, if so wished, as Custardo posted a list of the HA's and LA who saidthey would evict the family on conviction.

Pan · 29/08/2011 18:35

Helen - one or two buns were thrown, but in usual girly fashion, so non of them actually hit any intended target.

Pan · 29/08/2011 18:41

Ach, no. There was two threads running at the same time. One I started on evictions, and another about stopping benefits of convicted 'rioters'.

I can't recall which topic the benefits one was in (politics/in the news?). The eviction one is still open, so it must have been the benefits one.

Girly fashion?

So why are you running, eh?

Gulps at the sight of The Jessica Ennis of Mumsnet.....

will email later re the evictions thing if that's ok.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/08/2011 19:24

MNHQ - you know usually I think you do a fabulous job but recently you really are deleting the oddest things and yet let other nasty/trollish stuff stay put.

And I've reported stuff and get no response even when someone has said openly on twitter that they've been deliberately posting on threads to have a laugh.

I just don't get it anymore.

Classic example was perrycombover's deletions on the inappropriate behariouv of a hcp in asking a patient out. You delete her comments but clearly didn't read the thread so let worse comments stand.

OliviaMumsnet · 29/08/2011 19:34

@MrsCampbellBlack

Crikey. That's definitely not good enough - we're sorry if that was the case - it does sound most unlike us - we certainly read every mail that comes in and do our utmost to reply to every one too.
Thanks for this MrsCB. Will delve into this properly.

I will forward you my emails

Tyr · 29/08/2011 19:58

Pan,

Now that you've jogged my memory, I'm pretty sure the thread Edam and I were referring to was in mumsnet camapigns.

Pan · 29/08/2011 20:08

Tyr - the one I started was yes re evictions. And still is. The other one I don't think was. I doubt v much if I would have commenced a thread asking for a campaign currently. this is the eviction one

Pan · 29/08/2011 20:10

well that was a rubbish post!

  • the eviction thread IS in campaign - don't think the benefits one was.

AND

  • I don't think Iwould have asked for a "concurrent" campaign.

There.Hmm

Tyr · 29/08/2011 20:12

Pan,

I thought I had it sussed there. Now you've gone and got me all confused again.......
I'm getting too old for this.

Pan · 29/08/2011 20:17

Sorry.

right - evictions is still in campaign section. benefits, subject to a different thread, (incl the epetition), wasn't in campaign, but I think, in politics/news.

Snatched confusion from the jaws of clarity.....

2shoes · 29/08/2011 21:10

weird I did as Asked, yet thread is still there, perhaps it is no ok to post in the wrong topic and do petitions........

2shoes · 30/08/2011 12:45

well that was a waste of time, I take it you can now post in any topic even if not the right one and start e petion ones

TimeForCake · 30/08/2011 13:27

Aside from the main point of this thread, I am still [shocked] at what Eric said about noticing the user name 'retardsrus'. I haven't seen it before, but surely that is totally inappropriate, unsuitable and downright deletable with no questions needed?

HelenMumsnet · 31/08/2011 13:41

No it's not ok, 2shoes. Apols for our inefficiency - thread's now been moved Blush
