You can't hide threads on phones and tbh I can't keep up with them.

They irk me.

God I agree!
Itsawful on iPhones not being able to hide all the crappy threads I dont want to read!

Where is the iPhone app??????

warzone · 25/02/2011 15:12

Here here. (Or should that be hear hear. Anyone?)

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 15:13

I guess it depends on how you want to define "clique threads"?

Can't you just hide the threads on your log-in on a computer and they're just gone when you log in with your i-phone?

NettoSuperstar · 25/02/2011 15:14

Agree.
I have no problem with them being there, but there are so many now that they often take over active, and are annoying.
Give them a topic.

bellavita · 25/02/2011 15:17

Which ones did you have in mind exactly?

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:30

Yep net to exactly.

Look all the people bolding each other threads. Bog off.

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 15:32

what on earth are you on about "bolding" each others threads?

No-one in this thread has bolded anything (apart from you), and you can't put bold in thread titles Confused

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:33

Good Try bella;)

They are like this
bella so glad to hear the infection cleared up
netto no I didn't get to the meet up I heard you rocked the harden look
cybil s h golfing again ? Still at least you get to arrange the flowers at he club!

Just terminally dull. And EVerywhere

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 15:34

oh you mean bolding names.

I see that on all sorts of threads - some people just do it to draw attention to the person they're talking to.

Someone did it to me the other day put baroque in bold - and I don't think I've ever spoken to them before?

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:35

Hareem!! Bluddy iPad

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/02/2011 15:35

There are 100 threads in Active Convos, and what, 5 or so active "clique" threads?

I don't really understand what you mean by "keeping up".

Lizzylou · 25/02/2011 15:37

If you're on your ipad and not your phone now why are you whingeing?

Bella how are your piles now?

PaperView · 25/02/2011 15:38

There should be a topic for "community threads" where the shineys/Fit and fabbers/stately homers etc all go.

It's like going in a pub and sitting on someones regular seat!

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:39

I am doing pro active whingeing fir when I am.

trillian how did the meeting withbthe fraud squad go?

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 25/02/2011 15:43

Can't you even hide threads on an iPad then?

TrillianAstra · 25/02/2011 15:43

?

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 15:44

why - most of those threads are "open" aren't they?

Someone that's just suffered a bereavement goes to the bereavement topic and sees - a thread for those that have lost children, or one of the other support threads - they join it.

Someone is struggling with housework and keeping it under control - they head off to the "Good housekeeping" - and join either the FLYers or the Slatterns/Listmakers.

Someone wants to lose weight - heads off to general health (or whether such threads are) and sees LIGHTer life - a weightloss programme they're following, so they join it, or they have asthama and spot the Wheezers so join in

etc etc - what on earth would be the point in putting these open support groups in a topic seperate from what they're about?

And if it's the random "how is x,yz" comments you don't like - well then you'd best leave MN - as I've been here 6yrs and there have ALWAYS been thread hi-jacks Grin

BosomForAPillow · 25/02/2011 15:45

Hear hear. I try to block the topics but sometimes I might be missing something good in that topic. And then I think the shineys moved their blimmin threads to chat and I don't want to block chat.

GlennCoco keep up the whingeing I say.

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:45

Lol at 6 years. New girl

Why can't they go. It's rare people want to join the interminable dullness of " hey everyone I cleaned the sink" isn't it?

OP posts:
YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:47

They are dull. Do they get quoted on the round up or tweeter for the world to behold?
No they are " it's joshies party. I baked a cake". Whoppididy doo

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/02/2011 15:47

If you don't like the 'how are your piles?' chat then just don't click, the same way you don't click on all sorts of other threads.

YouGoGlennCoco · 25/02/2011 15:48

But I can't HIDE them trillian

sobs clutching her skirt

OP posts:
bellavita · 25/02/2011 15:48

Lizzy my piles are fine thank you!

How are your tits today?

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 25/02/2011 15:49

well - I started the slatterns 3yrs ago or so - it's still going strong (though I only pop in once or twice a year Blush) and there's lots of faces I do't recognise each time I go. Not sure who is in "charge" these days - but obviously they're doing a stirling job of keeping it going (actually it only started as a HELP! type of thread Shock).

And sadly I'm certain it's not rare that people join MN that have had a bereavement, or had utterly crap parents.
