What's a product that you wish existed but doesn't?

What's a product that you wish existed but doesn't?

For me it's a little contraption that attaches buttons that have fallen off back onto clothes really quickly/easily without sewing. I've bought things that claim to do this before, but they're rubbish. I have an aspiration to design something one day, I'm sure it would be possible to design a good one.

Maybe an entrepreneur will read this and design our ideas!

A pill that gives you optimal nutrition and that fills you up. I am so fed up of thinking what to cook, then cooking, being moaned at ‘because I don’t want that, loading the dishwasher, unloading the dishwasher. I just really don’t enjoy food anymore because it’s all just such hard work.

I’d love something, maybe a magical acupressure presser/button/band or something, so that you could just magically have an amazing sleep.
I’m knackered, fed up waking up at 4:30am unable to get back to sleep or tossing and turning until 2am. The rationed prescription of Zopiclone I get from the GP is awful. It makes you zonk out but leaves you feeling like crap, and it can’t be taken often due to addiction issues.

A mirror that can scan you and tell you what items to buy that go together so I don’t constantly look like I’m dressed from a jumble sale.

A wardrobe that irons clothes.
A human sized hot air drier

ChippedIkeaFurniture · 31/12/2024 15:08

A wearable device that accurately tracks how many calories I have consumed just by me eating, without me having to input any data or count or do anything.

marginallyawake · 31/12/2024 15:13

Automated meal planner that also checks cupboard stocks first and orders the necessary ingredients.

jimbort · 31/12/2024 15:17

A shower cap that keeps hair completely bone dry while swimming so choosing to swim doesn't always involve washing my hair afterwards

SmallGreenBabies · 05/01/2025 21:15

Excellent suggestions! I reckon the meal pill will be invented sooner or later.

Another good one would be a machine that puts the duvet cover on the duvet 🤬

I'm old enough to remember all those awful K TEL adverts from the 70s with products that were nothing short of miraculous...shite.

A hoover that sucks up ball pond balls and then spits them back out into the ball pond

TheOriginalCrazyLady · 05/01/2025 21:33

Tooth repair tablet, so you no longer need fillings. (Bet you can't guess what I'm in need of currently 😂)

Resisterance · 05/01/2025 21:35

An app that shows you what you look like in an outfit you're thinking of buying and whether it suits you so you don't need to try things on in changing rooms.. especially jeans

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/01/2025 21:43

A robot that can peg washing on the line, or hang it on a clothes airer, check that it is drying and rotate it, put the smalls on the radiators to finish off, detect when everything's dry, pair the socks, fold or hang everything else on hangers as appropriate, take it upstairs and put it away tidily in the correct drawers and wardrobes.

Isn't that the point of cover less duvets? 🤔

SunshineAndFizz · 05/01/2025 21:46

A pill you can take to dye your hair and keep those grey roots at bay.

soupfiend · 05/01/2025 21:49

A sun visor extender for the car, pulls out sideways so that when the sun is at the side, the top is covered rather than the few inches currently, plus a sun visor that fits around the rear view mirror properly.

PancakeClock · 05/01/2025 21:50

Sun protection pill, just take one a day for full UV blocking. Would love not to have to worry about sunscreen in Summer and on holidays.

Arewethebadguys · 05/01/2025 21:57

A machine to store up sleep so that when your baby is up all night you'd have banked hours from the days/weeks before!

Google 'Automat'.

In the 1940s, people could get prepared meals from Horn & Hardart automats, which were popular eateries that displayed food behind glass-doored windows. Customers could use coins or tokens to purchase food from the dispensers. Some of the foods available at Horn & Hardart automats included buns, beans, fish cakes, and coffee.

Agree, definitely an on/off button to make you go to sleep.

Also a rope to pull that floods your waterproof house with water so you don't have to clean it, and a giant hairdryer to dry it off.

moderationincludingmoderation · 05/01/2025 22:09

Something that actually guaranteed puts children to sleep (just for the night!) without any negative side effects.

Also a machine that peels multiple garlic cloves at once and then minces or crushes them in one go. And then cleans itself.

And the option to sell or give your sleep reserves to someone else when your kids are older.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems already exist.
