Nothing scary and patcholi looking please.

What I really want is something like the fabulous baby bjorn but in nice fabric.

you could ask slinkymalinki to paint one for you! this is her thread

gomez · 08/08/2007 20:37

Hot Mama Slings - not Bjorn like but very, very good. Still carry 10 month, hefty 26lber in one.

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:40

thanks gomez. i do tend to have probs with side carry slings though-back probs. so i need something that distributes weight

(oh and saturdayschild, lol! I clicked on the thread but I suspect that that would be a bit out of my budget!)

No ignore me it was Hot Slings.

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:41

ah no have tried hotslings, doesn't work for me, side carry again

gomez · 08/08/2007 20:44

Sorry me again . I wore DS at the front, legs either side of my waist as he got bigger until he was around 6 months if that is any help. I also use a back-pack and a hippy chick that I had from his two big sister but I do like my hot sling. Also I bought and ex-rental/demo one to try so was cheaper. HTH anyway.

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:44

woohoo!

am not sure if it will work on a newborn though?

OP posts:
gomez · 08/08/2007 20:44

Right you are then I will just bugger off!

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:48

oh gomez you have been really helpful

I shoudl have said of my side-carrying woes

I do like the hotslings very much and have toyed with getting two and crossing them over but then realised that this was the road to bankrupcy

i have a gorgeous red yamo one. is v much like the ergo i have (which is much less exciting fabric) which i bought after hiring from bigmama.

they (the two of them) are the only slings ive ever had that dont hurt me. and ive tried them all.

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 20:50

is this sling but in much nicer design.

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:51

bloody hell that is a fine sling

but unavalible to "trade issues"

still i have til february...

OP posts:
gomez · 08/08/2007 20:53

Very fine - I could go one of them!

[Have however just spent an obscene amount of money on a bike trailer so best not....]

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 20:53

i beleive the ergo has a 'newborn insert'? details of which i know nothing about as ds3 wasnt new when i got it.

i carry him now on cross-country treks and hes 18m. still no pain! (and my back tingles and burns in places all the time tbh)

fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:53

whats it like for newborns, tranquilla?

you can't use the ergo for newborns without the insert but I can't see a mention of an insert for this one. it does say from 3 months

OP posts:
fillyjonk · 08/08/2007 20:53

wow, there's service for you

OP posts:
TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 20:55

i got mine on ebay

gomez · 08/08/2007 20:56

Surf one not available but some others are cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamo-Baby-Carrier-NEW-7-designs-available-choose_W0QQitemZ200138885446QQihZ010QQcateg oryZ100983QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 20:57

ummmmmm. dunno about newborns.

BUT i did just yesterday re-find several other slings which are suitable for newborns, so you could have a lend of one fo those till she/he is big enough for the glorious and wonderful Yamo??

gomez · 08/08/2007 20:57

Oops nearly but I am sure you could work it out from there.

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 20:58

rofl at 'rot' as a colourway name

gomez · 08/08/2007 20:59
