Nothing scary and patcholi looking please.

What I really want is something like the fabulous baby bjorn but in nice fabric.

sadly tis the only german i know.
i used to know lots of rude and rudeish words in lots of languages. one of the many benefits of multicultural childhood living in inner london.

gomez · 08/08/2007 21:05

Surely if pushed you could remember a few? And of course offend huge swathes of mumsnet into the bargain as an added bonus.

Ceolas · 08/08/2007 21:10

How does this grab you, Filly?

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 21:10

i could, couldnt i?

seeker · 08/08/2007 21:12

Where do you live? If you're anywhere near Faversham in Kent there's a new shop that sells slings andcloth nappies and - bizarrely - second hand books that might be worth a trip.

gomez · 08/08/2007 21:14

Easy tiger

Stop posting links to cool slings or I might need to buy one .

TranquilaManana · 08/08/2007 21:17

Slacker · 08/08/2007 22:07

Sybela

Lovely fabrics. Looks fairly Bjornlike but don't think you can have the baby facing out.

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 09:58

oh wow, loads of links and I Not Meant To Be Here, wil return

sorky, can you make such things? say more pls

OP posts:
sorkycake · 09/08/2007 13:41

I can make you a coorie-type pouch sling, you choose the fabric

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:21

I find the ergo incredibly comfortable. Can use it on my back form about 5 or 6 months. It might not be funky looking, but I had a very funky looking sling called the kubeba, which was also incredibly uncomfortable.

If I have another baby, and I hope that won't be too far away, then I'll try out the infant insert for the ergo.

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:28

belgo!

hush!

I HAVE an ergo

if I were to buy a new sling for a new baby, I would buy the didymos here

I borrowed it for a couple of weeks from a friend and it is very comfortable -it doesn't stretch much so gives a lot of support.

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:48

i know belgo, i do like that one, but the fabric scares me a little, (though can compromise a bit) and i am concerned re getting it on and off in public. Thoughts?

put it on before going out and leave it on. and of course practise It is expensive though, so unless you're entirely convinced, then I wouldn't buy it.

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:51

aaargh can't do ring slings

not even in felt....

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:53

belgo prob is that this is baby no 3, so no trotting round park then back for a mutual nap, OH no, its off to soft play and the rest of the crap. Which, iirc with dd, meant much more getting in and out of the sling

ar$e, I am going to end up with a bloody baby bjorn, aren't I?

I find ring slings uncomfortable for a long journey especially if I also have a rucksack on my back

fillyjonk · 09/08/2007 15:54

oh thats the other thing-HOW can you put a rucksack on?

When you have 3 kids, a rucksack of crap is pretty much a necessity, I suspect

tricotti. I'll try and find a link. it's symetrical so more comfortable and very easy to use.

belgo · 09/08/2007 15:56

tricotti

It's in two parts, and folds up very tiny. I found it very comfortable.
