Anyone lucky enough to have an Audi TT?

If so, what car seat do you have? DH is desperate for an Audi TT, but I am not so sure DS will fit happily in the back.

What do you think?

CD - no such as a yummy lunch at school!!! I had my usual salad with olives, nice and healthy(!)whilst sat in staff room.

I'm afraid I don't have time to read the whole thread. My DH has a TT (he felt he needed it to get over the crisis of reaching 40 )
We tried to get a car seat that fits in the back and have a britax seat which goes from 9 months to 4 years...BUT it is so difficult to lift DS (20months) into the back we don't use it and have a maxicosi in the front with the airbag turned off.
To be honest the car is levely, but a pain in the ass, only 2 people can go in it at any one time and we always end up using my car (boring family car, which I equate to the big pants Bridget Jones wears....boring, but necessary!)

CountessDracula · 25/05/2004 15:02

Come on all you car girls with DH's with their mid life crisis cars - what is YOUR ideal car? If money were no object.

Fio2 · 25/05/2004 15:04

no we have a volvo S40, I would be quite happy, for myself, with any old knacker tbh

I am Soooooooooooooooooo working class

but wow I bet most men would like to come over an audi TT

CountessDracula · 25/05/2004 15:08

FIO!!!! That's gross

JanZ · 25/05/2004 15:19

What about the new Mazda RX8? Has 4 doors (albeit that the back 2 open backwards) and I think a wee bit more room in the back. My ex-boss has just got a red one - we're all telling him it's his mid life crisis.

Jeremy Clarkson loved it.

Hulababy · 25/05/2004 15:25

CD - I love little sporty numbers - the TT was my choice, only stopped from getting as car seat/pushchair doesn't fit. I quite fancy the Street Ka as a second car if we need one the future though.

I loved my little Smart too - very cute, and everyone always let you out at junctions, etc - so friendly too

Mermaid2 · 25/05/2004 15:32

Aston Martin DB9 would be my choice if money were no object.

willow2 · 25/05/2004 17:12

We have one of
these . It's top of the range, really nifty, has heated seats and wing mirrors and there's plenty of room for buggies and bikes.

littlemissbossy · 25/05/2004 17:13

LOL willow

CountessDracula · 25/05/2004 17:15

you think she's joking LMB....

lou33 · 25/05/2004 17:24

My sister and her dh have a multitude of cars, depending on what they need to use them for. She has a Mercedes SLK Kompressor and one of those ridiculous looking Smart cars. He has an Audi TT and some fancy BMW saloon thingy. They also have a Renault Grand Espace, for when they go out with the kids. She provides a car for her staff, and we drive one of their cars too. BIG insurance policy I expect!

Piffleoffagus · 25/05/2004 17:26

CAnnot beleive the smut and innuendo about cars!
LOL @ this thread esp CD!!! Funny lady
We gave up our wonderful gorgeous fast and fab Audi A4 2.6 Every gadget high spec leather trim etc.. to buy a peugeot 307SW with glass roof, it is a lovely car but the Audi had so much more..
balls... inspector
I actually cried when it went...

Furball · 25/05/2004 17:28

Janz - Love the RX8 and used to have an RX7 in my day but they don't do, ahem, ahem - automatic. My/our preferred choice.

When DH and I started seeing one another he had a Boxster and I had a MGF. Now we have just one car - a Passat Station Wagon. Gone are the days

jampot · 25/05/2004 17:52

If money were no object I would have a Range Rover Vogue for lugging the kids around and when I wanted to piss the old men who hate women driving big cars off, I would also have an Audi TT because they are so sexy and that would be just for me to chill in, and I would buy my dh one of those sexy Bentley sports coupe things.

Coddylicious · 25/05/2004 18:15
