This year we are going to start buying camping equipment for future holidays, been camping pre-kids and always went on camping holidays as a child.

Ok, Dh thinks we should get a big frame tent. I'm sure you know the thing I mean. Big window at the front, 2 layers of canvas.
I prefer the big dome tents, they look so much more 21st century for a start.

Which is better?

Also if you have any other helpful hints and tips of stuff to add to our list I'd be grateful.

Top tip for if it rains:

Go boogy-boarding. We had a rainy yet fantastic holiday in North Devon a few years ago. You don't get cold and being wet doesn't matter.

Was a top tip given to me by a lady at the washing up area who had been boogy boarding whilst 4 months pregnant and said she had had lots of fun but felt like a weeble!

Oh OK, I am lazier than you then, I melt the butter and throw in the egss and swirl them around quickly with a fork to mix them and the milk. I don't bother with a bowl. Or I do them in a cup that I swill out quickly.

Keep the ideas coming though I am impressed with the ss guide to zip-loc bags and will atke some this year to confirm if they revolutionise my camping experience.

no no no to the zip lock bags. what happened to conserving plastic bag use for the good of the planet? am obsessive re-user of plastic bags. take the ones you already have from shopping. lots of them. and tupperware for putting food in.

fennel with a plastic bag conservation fetish. Grin

agree about the thermarests, Kaloo20, very comfy and so easy.
