Hair or bare?

Something I've wondered about for years but never asked anyone - do you leave your doodah natural or do you shave / wax / Immac? And to what extent? Do you leave a bit on or go totally bare? It's never been something I've had to do much about for the past several years as nobody has been near that area, but my new partner has mentioned he would like to see me without hair. He's not complaining about how I am at the moment, he loves being down there, but I think he's turned on by the thought of it. So, do most women shave or not?!

I have had my first laser hair removal a few weeks ago. I am bald and like it that way. Went for a lockdown special, so good price at a national clinic. Due second one in 2 weeks. Grow back is really slow and I have bald patches now. Can’t wait for it to finish.

I definitely can’t pee straight for a day or so after when I’ve had a wax! 😂😂 it is totally a thing!

fuckingcovid · 09/08/2020 12:35

It doesn't matter what I do it's itchy, sore and uncomfortable. I trim the longer hair and that's it. I'm not very hairy though

@Ginbunny1212

How much does it cost and how many treatments is it? Could be tempted given what I spend on waxing if permanent?

doityourselfnow · 09/08/2020 17:54

@Ginbunny1212 I d line to ask the same as @Namechangednorth a leaee.

doityourselfnow · 09/08/2020 17:54

@doityourselfnow and @Namechangednorth

I got a deal at skn clinic. £365 for Brazilian and underarms. 60% off. They regularly have deals.

It’s for 6 sessions 6 weeks apart. First session was start of July and I notice a difference. Underarms took 2 mins each and did hurt. Bikini area hurt a lot. The upper seed toon took 3 mins. Under area took longer as she had to keep stopping. Apparently the intensity increases after each session 😩. We got into a rhythm of 2 blasts then cool air.

It only hurt when getting done, so hope now I know I can be braver. Afterwards it was sensitive, but I stupidly wore skinny jeans. It looked odd for a week or so as the hair looked like stubble. But it is suppose to kill the hair follicles and as they die it pushes out the dead hair. I am due one in a week or so. The areas look odd as some parts are bald and smooth and others have hair growing, albeit slowly. It will be worth it

doityourselfnow · 09/08/2020 18:47

@Ginbunny1212 that sounds bearable!

doityourselfnow · 09/08/2020 18:47

@Ginbunny1212 thank you!

Ginbunny1212 · 09/08/2020 19:25

@doityourselfnow now I know yes it’s bearable. I wasn’t expecting it to hurt that much so it was a surprise. But afterwards a bit sensitive. They give you cream to sooth it. I only used it first 24 hrs. I am prepared for the next session. Just put up with it and it will be worth it.

namechangednorth · 10/08/2020 06:18

@Ginbunny1212
Thanks for the update. Interesting. Will you keep us updated? If it really works and you don't get regrowth and it stays smooth when the course is finished then I will definitely go for it

Pinnermum80 · 11/09/2020 07:14

Bare and I usually shave it using conditioner or baby oil. I have never had any complaints only complimentsSmile

Lovemusic33 · 11/09/2020 15:15

Short back and sides 😂

I just keep it trimmed and tidy, never shave it all off as I end up getting thrush when the stubble irritates me.

I don’t really care what men like, my current partner/FWB would like it shaved but tough.

Rgy3250999 · 11/09/2020 18:05

For those that shave, do you get long with it remaining hair free? Mine is fine for a day or two but then it’s all stubbly again. I don’t have a big bush when it’s fully grown but the smooth skin doesn’t last long when I’ve shaved it all off.

Anotherblokelurking · 11/09/2020 23:25

There’s a programme on Channel 4 catch-up Bring Back The Bush that was interesting

Seen 'Bring Back the Bush: Where Did Our Pubic...'? Watch it here on All 4:

If you want to be smooth all the time shaving achieves that but needs doing every couple of days. When I have shaved I have showered and then used DH shaving cream which leaves a very smooth moisturised skin. Mine will last a few days as I have fine blond but that's best case scenario.

I prefer waxing and it is a three week routine but have to accommodate a little regrowth in between. My beautician throws her hands up in horror at shaving and tells me off if I have done occasionally.

Personally I find the razor a bit of a fag!

BrownEyedLady6899 · 12/09/2020 07:56

I shave as my partner prefers it this way, it is better for me too but recently it has started to grow back. Does anyone use hair removal cream in that area?

BubblyBarbara · 12/09/2020 08:31

It’s a personal choice but also certain people suit different approaches. If it looks like a stomped bat you might want a bit more coverage for example. Also if you’re blonde or otherwise have light hair, it’s less noticeable in the first place and you can get away with more.

kevinn · 12/09/2020 15:43

STOMPED BAT

That's the only thing I've seen on here funnier than punched lasagne
