Personal hygiene

I read a twitter exchange arising from an article about poor female genital hygiene. One user said, “unperfumed soap and water, it’s not hard girls”. Lots of people responded saying you should never use soap on your vagina. The reply was “not inside it, no but on the folds”. This left some dumbfounded. Do some females really think that no cleaning agent should be used in the area at all?! Hmm

As in, why would another woman's personal smell be pleasant to me...

user1490465531 · 25/01/2018 11:09

Another of these let's share our most intimate stories threads.
Does anyone else not notice the trend for these on netmums lately?
Always discussing women's private parts.
Someone getting off on it big time.

this is a bit harsh! Fanny odour doesnt just mean the woman never washes with soap. Sorry for the TMI but im pregnant at the moment and I wash down there twice, sometimes three times a day and use always scented dailys and i still reek to high heaven!!! I think it may also be that my sense of smell has intensified which it did in my last pregnancy too.... but my point is dont be so judgemental. Some women have actual problems that covering themselves in soap isnt actually going to solve.
I dont think women who have no issues at all wander round with fannys that can be smelt from a distance. Any woman that does probably has some sort of medical issue and you shaming them and telling them to wash more isnt going to help.

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2018 11:12

There has been an increase in this sort of thread. That's very true.

user1490465531 · 25/01/2018 11:12

OP are you really female.
Sounds like a man posting.

Eliza9917 · 25/01/2018 11:13

Washing more would probably make something like that worse.

shittyshitybangbang · 25/01/2018 11:15

I am, when it gets so bad you can detect the vaginal odour of somebody standing next to you who is fully clothed.

I don't believe that, how do you even know what you're smelling is vagina odour and not something else.

I hate to be you, going around detecting vagina odour everywhere you go. 🤢🤢

CheapSausagesAndSpam · 25/01/2018 11:15

I don't shave at all...so I soap the pubic area but not the folds. Water's fine.

ijustwannadance · 25/01/2018 11:18

I'd get cystitis just thinking about using soap on my fadge

Sparklingbrook · 25/01/2018 11:18

Yes, put that into Indeed as a search Wet. Grin Willing to travel nationwide. Wonder if there's commission?

Solo · 25/01/2018 11:20

Wetwashing00 · 25/01/2018 11:21

Pitch it to femfresh, I’m sure they will be delighted to create a new role. That’s is some super power you have, someone should pay you for it

restbiterepeat · 25/01/2018 11:22

Gosh, you like saying folds a lot, man.

octonaught · 25/01/2018 11:25

I am sitting in an airport trying not to snort with laughter
What a ridiculous thread

Fwiw, the only time I remember ever smelling something was in primary school (30 years ago) a young girl had learning disabilities, but was physically mature for her age, and in retrospect now I realise she had started menstruating early. But that is an exceptional example, and a child, not a grown woman

isupposeitsverynice · 25/01/2018 11:25

nice username op Hmm

bookworm14 · 25/01/2018 11:26

It's usually only men who refer to women as 'females'. Just saying.

Yay! more misogyny

AlmostAJillSandwich · 25/01/2018 11:29

Vaginas do not need cleaning at all, it is a self cleaning organ. You are referring, sir (suspect this is a man posting) to a VULVA.

And anyone who has decent hygiene would be more than clean enough just from the soapy water following what is known as gravity, when showering, or by sitting in the bath.

ghostyslovesheets · 25/01/2018 11:31

women are trying to take over the world with fanny smell - awesome!
