Hi OP. I can't comment on the act itself, but agree with PPs that irritation of a cervical erosion, even a possible burst cervical ectropion, can cause quite a gush of blood. How long did you bleed for? Was it fresh (bright red?) hopefully you've seen someone now, but if not a speculum to check it out is a good idea. Not to worry though - neither of those are necessarily anything sinister.
