Just reported in the local paper that the Headmaster has left suddenly before the start of term? Statement from the school didn’t offer any thanks etc does anyone know what’s happened? They have appointed an interim head while recruitment for a permanent replacement is underway.

Hello. Our child has just been accepted to RGS for next 2025 Yr 7.
I can confirm the vat for now is a14.5% rise.
As for scholorships her friend has been given 2, along with a bursary. It seems they have means to help students who would benefit there.

Is that for existing students only? As their fee structure online seems to suggest passing on 20% unless I've missed something?

VAT has to be added at 20% but it may be that the school has reduced the net fees, effectively absorbing a few percent.

I'm not sure how it works. The offer letter just stated the vat was 14.5%. We are budgeting for that to rise. She starts next year and is new to rgs. Moving from her state school.
We have looked at and recieved offers from a few schools but rgs worcester had a lovely vibe about it.

They are charging 20% VAT as legally obliged to do, but they have reduced the underlying fees to equate to 14%. Applies to new and existing students. Wonderful school.

Don't go to Kings. Yes headmaster left under a cloud, shocking really he was recruited in the first place. Has resulted in more change and now an acting head in place who can't make decisions. rGS more inclusive and less judgemental- kings are only interested in the kids that shine, the larger percentage who are good not great dont get a look in. Likewise richer parents get more air time, otherwise you are quickly ushered out the door. And yes they've kept vat increase low for this year but they're losing pupils and fee increase likely more than 10% next year..
