10+ entrance for secondary education Sep 2025

Hello
wanted to get a thread going for entrance in secondary school for 10+ in Sep 2025. Key questions to know more about include : preparation, mock tests and reading habits, past successful preparation etc.… happy to include other topics. Target schools - Whitgift, Trinity, City Of London and Emanuel.

All applicants will be notified by the second week (I think) of January whether they were or weren’t successful. Interview will be the following week.

I haven't received an email, however I believe the results will be out next week.

Though I know the boys who sat the 11+ last Monday have already found out if they have been successful or not. So guess 10+ last.

Oh yes, we got ours. The invite said DWM, any idea what that stands for. Best of luck to everyone and keeping fingers crossed

Same here, the email stated OAB for us and the interview is on Sat 18th.

I think the abbreviation points to the interviewer's initials. When you confirm your appointment - it will show the name of the interviewer. Hope it helps

A friend is a teacher at trinity and conducts the interviews for 11+ and 10+. She said it’s easy to see those who are regurgitating a script their parents created and that they don’t really like that. Just being themselves I think is better for all. They’re really great with the kids and just want to see what they’re like. They give them on the spot tasks to see how they deal with them and which you can’t really prepare for.

@Sony27 i think it’s 48 places in both T&W, so two classes. They over offer as some boys will choose other schools or decline for other reasons. So if more than expected accept that’s over 48 they will open a third class.

With regards to interview numbers, I have no idea sorry. 7 boys from my sons school interviewed at T and all but 1 got invited for interview. I have heard they interview two thirds of the applicants, then offer over a third of the kids that interviewed. But who really knows! Just hope for the best.

Please can I ask this group which schools are available for girls? I am looking at 10 plus for next year. Emanuel, city and kgs. Any others? I am thinking about girls only schools

What did you think of 10+ interview at CLS? Seems like there were no academic questions.

A boy who is in sixth form at T and volunteers to help out on the day told us. He said it's for both 10+ and 11+ interview.

glad to hear they are now coming out. I was told to expect the email on Wednesday so was starting to get a bit nervous (despite being told yes he’s on the list!) 😬 Been trying to do some gentle interview practice and getting a lot of eye rolling.

Had ours today, went ok hard to tell these things. How was yours ?
