I think we have all wished this at some point in the Y11 threads 🤣 I know I have.

No. Our year 12 is about 50% our students and 50% from 6 other schools. It would be nigh on impossible to manage that.

And in any case, we finish teaching in January of y13. We don't need more time.

Glad it's not just our school. I really think DS needs the summer to just chill (and maybe get a job to fund his social life)

Meanwhile, my year 11 wished the opposite 🤣

But thank you

This is interesting as my DD is joining a large school sixth form (around 300 in y12) with approx 30% from other schools and they set bridging work. They have all had to sign up to a platform with folders of work to do for each subject, which has to be handed in when they start.

DD said there is quite a lot to do for maths and chem. The school also encourage students, who are not sure on a subject, to dip in to the folder of other subjects to see if it appeals to them as a potential replacement. I like this as I am trying to work out plan B for DD should she not get what she wants.

DD has always loved school though and I want her to keep the enthusiasm despite the looming results so I'm encouraging her looking at it in the next week or two to keep her positive in the run up to results day.

Me too! Thanks @MrsHamlet your insights have been so helpful.

We're going to need a new thread soon @Techno56 - are you willing to set one up please? These have been so good to vent and worry with others in the same position. Thread 5 should see us through to results and beginning of year 12 Smile
