And any other schools you may wish to add... Have used threads from the previous few years as part of my research and ds sat Trinity today! I'm more of a lurker than a thread starter but decided to bite the bullet and offer a hand to hold. Good luck to all dc's sitting exams over the next few weeks! Grin

Congratulations to your DD truelove. Must be a relief.

DD hasn't even asked about when results are due

Roll on Friday.....
All the best to everyone waiting.
DH has filed away all letters DS received, and I don't remember envelope sizes. But I remember nice touch as DS received letters addressed to him as well.

soooooooonowwhat · 06/02/2018 23:40

Congrats truelove! Lovely to hear some positive news. Pudding ds is similarly unaware of when results come out which is a relief. Good luck to your dd, not too long now!

Scoobydoobydoo · 07/02/2018 09:45

Truelove
I have been lurking for months too. Especially on this thread
I saw your post at 10.40 last night and went to check my post box
We also had an offer from Bromley high.
So thank you for the first post :-)
And well done to your DD!!

truelove · 07/02/2018 10:08

Thanks everyone - we are very happy (haven't worked out how to use the emojis yet!) Fantastic news Scooby! Well done to your DD too. Are you looking elsewhere? We feel very lucky to have offers from BH and Colfes (told by HM at interview DD2 will definitely be getting an offer) but deciding between them is a tough (but very nice!) one. We'll go to the offer holders open morning at BH later this month and presumably Colfes will do something similar.

ConnieUK74 · 07/02/2018 13:32

Anyone else waiting for Epsom College offers - due out today but i’m at work (😩)? DS in yr 6 has applied for a yr 9 place.

Tolacar · 07/02/2018 14:06

I'm not but I do know someone who received an offer today.

ConnieUK74 · 07/02/2018 14:23

Oh that’s great! Congrats to your friend! Wondering how early I can leave work...

truelove · 07/02/2018 14:51

Yesterday, DD was home before me as I was at work and she saw the letter with the school post mark, sent me a photo and asked if she could open it. I saw the postage was 90p so thought it probably contained more than a single sheet of A4 (rejection) so let her open it. Thankfully it was good news. Good luck Connie. Hope you get good news.

soooooooonowwhat · 07/02/2018 15:42

Great to hear all the good news coming in! Fingers crossed for all. I have just found out that I have to go into work early on Friday and won't be home until late. Waaaaah!!

Puddinglane12 · 07/02/2018 16:26

soooooo I now have to work on Friday too, but hopefully just the morning... TBH in some ways it's better than being home, waiting for the postman, whose arrival is somewhat unpredictable.

With DS, I planned some distraction away from home in the morning, and arrived just before 1pm and postman still hadn't been. Then I finally spotted him 1 hour later going down the opposite side of the road, then he disappeared into a close and I didn't see him for another 20 mins, sigh... when I spotted him coming up my side of the road, I almost ran to beg him for our mail a few doors down the road. I hadn't noticed the postman's delivery routine until that fateful day.... Grin. I'm sure he must've thought I was mad, as I opened the door just as he was approaching.

Puddinglane12 · 07/02/2018 16:27

This was a couple of years ago, we still have the same postman

ConnieUK74 · 07/02/2018 16:31

Based on our other son and his friends 13+ applications I think this has been a v v tough year, with a lot of very bright children missing out on interviews and offers, I will be happy when it’s over...

soooooooonowwhat · 07/02/2018 22:09

LOVE your postman-stalking story Pudding - made me chuckle! Ds is in after school clubs until 17:30 and I will have to go direct to school to pick him up so we will arrive back at the same time! I'm going to try to get home earlier but doubt it. As it is I think ds won't even notice the envelopes, unless the kids have been talking about it at school as he has no idea when the results come out!

orangina · 07/02/2018 23:16

I don't normally work on a Friday, but wouldn't you know it, I need to go to a work lunch thing on Friday.... will leave in time to collect ds from school and then go back home to face the envelopes, which I won't have had the chance to inspect (thick or thin?!) before hand.... aurgh!

soooooooonowwhat · 08/02/2018 07:44

Ooooh so close now! Good luck all!

WarmAndco3y · 08/02/2018 07:57

Shall we make plans to raid our local sorting offices tonight?HaloShock

Tolacar · 08/02/2018 08:00

Woke up at 5am after dreaming about opening envelopes!

truelove · 08/02/2018 08:11

Not long to wait now, everyone. Hoping to hear from Colfes today. Keep busy Grin

Firefox1066 · 08/02/2018 09:29

Good friend of mine is going to get her post from the sorting office at 6am tomorrow as she has a flight at 10!

I'll be stalking the postman and checking the envelope size as he walks up the driveway!!

I actually feel a lot less pressure this time around. I keep telling myself..DS passed the exam, was called for a Sports Assessment and enjoyed his interview. He kept his side of the bargain, so whatever the news tomorrow we will emphasise how proud we are of him and all his hard work.

This process is ridiculously stressful!

orangetiger · 08/02/2018 11:09

Yay. DS been offered a place at W (10+) his head just called and told me (not sure if they are supposed to?!) no mention of sports scholarship though so gutted about that as don't think we can take the place without the help of one. will wait and see what comes in post tomorrow and hope it's just that they don't pass scholarship details on to schools. Good luck everyone.

WarmAndco3y · 08/02/2018 11:36

Wow, orangetiger well done to your DS, I hope you get what you need to be able to accept the offer.
Is your DS at a prep school?
Will you tell him today? To think that ‘everyone’ else knows apart from us. I’ll be avoiding any eye contact at pick up today, thankfully DD has a club after school so I won’t see many teachers/ the head.

Firefox1066 · 08/02/2018 11:40

Fantastic news Orangetiger !!! So happy for you and well done to your DS! You are officially the first to hear!

spacecadet48 · 08/02/2018 11:45

orangetiger how does your head know? Just interested as my DS school dont get told anything and I wouldn't expect to be told by them as they have no involvement in this process apart from a reference.

Emma303 · 08/02/2018 11:47

I was so hoping I may hear from W today. Maybe an email like we got an email for offer of interview. Tomorrow is going to be a very long day!!!! Will it deffo be a letter?
