BringOnTheScience · 24/08/2017 11:14

3B, 7A, 2A*
(or 6/7 equivalent obviously!)

V v v v proud 😀

ASDismynormality · 24/08/2017 11:16

DD got half As and half Bs, she's so relieved to have got a 6 in English language!

Jungfraujoch · 24/08/2017 11:17

Can someone point me to where I can find grade boundaries please?

DS upset not to get into preferred sixth form and is one grade off his second choice so will talk to them tomorrow at their drop in day - fingers crossed!

Witchend · 24/08/2017 11:19

Really happy here.
986 2x A* 6x A
She got her A in additional maths that she was worried about.
Oddly the one she expected to do least well in was Eng literature and got an 8. She'd have been thrilled with a 7. Confused Not going enquire too closely in that one!

Combined with her previous results she now has
987 3xA, 8xA and a B and a distinction in ECDL.
Happy here today.

happy2bhomely · 24/08/2017 11:19

My DS is over the moon.

Maths 7
Language 6
Lit 4
Biology A
Chemistry B
Physics B
Business B
RS B
History C
French D

I am so pleased for him. He worked hard and I feel he got what he deserved. I feel his grades reflect his ability.

I don't know if he will be able to stay on at his 6th form. They wanted A's in all chosen subjects. He is down there now trying to see what he can work out. Fingers crossed.

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 11:19

Grade boundaries Smile

pasanda · 24/08/2017 11:21

Very pleased here Smile

Business Studies - A* (really pleased with this as the grade boundaries are ridiculously high and he wants to do this at uni)

History, Physics & Chemistry - A
Biology, PE - B
Maths - 6 (so chuffed with that one!!)
English Lit - 6 (2 marks off a 7 so will get that re-marked)
English Lang - 4 (he's disappointed with this and this may jeopardise his choice of psychology A level but we are going in tomorrow to discuss)

So......after self harm and suicide attempt at the end of Year 9, not much work done and lots of de-merits during Years 10&11, then totally knuckling down and basically teaching himself the whole bloody curriculum for each subject from Easter - I am so, so relieved and pleased for him. Thank God it is all over!!!

His lovely girlfriend got all A*'s, 9 in maths and 2 8's Shock Shock

TheFallenMadonna · 24/08/2017 11:21

Maths teacher and year 11 parent, so double whammy. DS did v v well and I disgraced him publically by getting out of the car and hugging him. AND my cohort of very vulnerable pupils all got a Maths GCSE. Against my predictions. So this is my best results day ever, and I have seen a few!

Fleurdelise · 24/08/2017 11:21

Giraffe DS got the other way around 4 in maths and 6 in both English subjects which is mind blowing when he started Year 7 top sets in maths and not great in English. Anyway never mind, ultimately I think it is easier to do something within his reach (based on his general efforts) and achieve the end goal than throw himself at the deep end and give up a year later.

Jungfraujoch · 24/08/2017 11:21

Thanks Yoda

Grade boundaries?

pasanda · 24/08/2017 11:22

I can't believe there are people still waiting - I would be tearing my hair out!!!

Serin · 24/08/2017 11:22

3 A's in Biology, Chem and Physics
7 B's
5 in Maths and 4 in English Lang
3 in Eng Lit (but we actually told him not to revise this as he has dyslexia and school made him sit 13 exams which we felt was far too much....should have concentrated on 9!).
Anyway, he and we are happy.
Off to sixth form to study Biol, Chem and PE

Jungfraujoch · 24/08/2017 11:22

Link doesn't work!

NotAgainYoda · 24/08/2017 11:23

Try the second one!

ifonly4 · 24/08/2017 11:23

Apparently she's in the queue to decline her place at Sixth Form (her second choice). She was very unlikely to get the maths grade required to do a science subject in her chosen Sixth Form, so I just hope she can still have her back up option as there's nothing else in the box she'd want to do.

Fleurdelise · 24/08/2017 11:24

Well done all I'm going out celebrating with a friend now, next stop DDs 11+ exam in two weeks time

skippy67 · 24/08/2017 11:25

DD got 5 A's
2A* and 4B's. We'll be getting at least 2 of the B grades re marked. She's chuffed and so am I! Especially as she got an A in maths.

NotAgainYoda · 24/08/2017 11:25

ifonly

Good luck to her

Maths is the one I'm worried about too

DH has pointed out he wouldn't hang around if he was gutted but I'm not sure - could be crying on someone's shoulder

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 24/08/2017 11:27

Have just looked at the grade boundaries, DS2 needed 280 marks for a B in Physics, Biology & Geography - he has 279, 278 & 277 marks respectively! How unlucky!

Fingers crossed his school will take this into consideration when deciding on a sixth form place?

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 11:29

She's rung!

Results are fab for her (dyrpraxia) apart from RE where she's got consistent A*s right across the board with mocks and before, and got a C, and so did most of the other A students in the group, so something's very odd there. She wants it remarked, is it worth it? And she's supposed to be doing it for A Level after being a dead cert Confused any advice?

She is thrilled to bits that she got an 8 in English Language, 7 in literature and maths, Bs in triple science, c in art. I am so so so proud I'm crying

slug · 24/08/2017 11:30

DD sat only one GCSE early. The rest will come next year. To be fair to her, she's reasonably bright but simply uninterested in R.E. so we weren't expecting much and have repeatedly told her we are not concerned with the grade and to treat it as an indication of how much she will need to do next year.

I honestly wasn't expecting her to get out of bed and go in and collect the result, so I was surprised to see a text 10 minutes ago. A grade B. I'm so chuffed.

Eusebius · 24/08/2017 11:38

Does anyone know if there is a maximum no of papers you can ask for a remark in? We have about three.
