Hard to belive that I was here 5 years ago sweating it out for the results of his secondary school offer!

Only a few days now bwfore the GCSE results come out. DS is starting to get nervous....as am I!

DS has surfaced, requesting scrambled eggs. He seems pretty chilled. I feel distinctly queasy.

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 09:13

Awhh good luck those sitting in a car park! So frustrated that I'm in hospital Sad want to be there for her.

Witchend · 24/08/2017 09:14

Am I the only one panicking that the teachers on this thread are talking about my DS when they say "I could cry for one boy" etc?

I nearly did. But then I realised it said boy so not my dd. Blush

I suspect dd1 is awake and on her group WhatsApp all being nervous (or in dd1's case she tells me she's excited Confused) together. Maybe we should have done a WhatsApp group for us parents to panic together. Grin

7 A*, 1 A, 3 8s!!! Bawling my eyes out, so proud.

Ragwort · 24/08/2017 09:17

Well done to your DD MsHarry - we haven't even left home yet so I am faffing about on Mumsnet trying to look as if I don't care at all, DS getting dressed Grin.

DietingAgain · 24/08/2017 09:18

Good results but not enough to get into her schools sixth form. I'm proud, but she's gutted!!! 1A*, 3 6's, 1B and 4 C's and she feels like a failure! Hope she'll be proud when the emotions calm down !

justmumof1 · 24/08/2017 09:19

Congrats!

Wow that's brilliant MsHarry - well done to your DD!

Peanutbuttercheese · 24/08/2017 09:19

DS is asleep and he is going in to school at 11, his friends are all meeting at our house. We live in the closest house. I made those boys bacon sandwiches a few times before their exams. May do the same again.

They all seem very unphased, DH was very disappointed that he isn't going in with him.

MsHarry · 24/08/2017 09:20

Dieting those are good results, she'd get into my DD's 6th form. Hopefully they'll reconsider?

ASDismynormality · 24/08/2017 09:22

dieting. That's really sad that your DD doesn't feel proud of her results, she did well!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/08/2017 09:22

Sitting waiting for mine to come home - I feel sick!

ifonly4 · 24/08/2017 09:26

Mad, AQA grade boundaries are on their website. If DD gets the same for Eng Lang as she did for her mocks, she could be looking at a 9. We daren't even hope for this as that wasn't on our radar for anything.

littlemissangrypants · 24/08/2017 09:27

My boy got in to local sixth form. He got 4Cs, 1B and and A* in IT. The rest are Ds. I am so so proud. We had more than a few tears this morning. Ds is pretty pleased and now has to decide what he wants to take as his third subject for A level. He's doing double IT and now being offered photography or product design. He was hoping to get either geography or business. He has time to decide.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 24/08/2017 09:27

Well done Harry's DC! Well done diet's DD. It's crazy but DS2 needs 5 x 7 or B for his sixth form too. Such a shame with such an overall good set of results.

RedHelenB · 24/08/2017 09:27

Dieting hope she can find a place where she's happy. She's done brill to more than pass them and an A* as well. Hope she feels more like celebrating later

Thank you so much OYBBK, I couldn't find the GCSE boundaries (blame the drugs) - they look OK, I think...

So glad for your Ds, littlemiss Smile

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 09:35

Oh I'm sorry, boopsy, really hope you can find something he wants to do, sounds gutting for him though Bs and C's still good - would another 6th form take him?

Mama1980 · 24/08/2017 09:36

Just popping in, my eldest niece is going to get her results now with my brother, feeling oddly nervous even more so than with my dd think it is the new system and not really understanding it.
She stayed here last night and was not at all confident.

Haskell. Lots of our local schools have always asked for A's in subjects they want to take to A level.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 24/08/2017 09:40

8 a stars and 3 9s. Very pleased for DD. Her friends all got similar, 50% got 9s in English - maybe boundaries lower than expected.

Well done to everyone's DCs.
