Hard to belive that I was here 5 years ago sweating it out for the results of his secondary school offer!

Only a few days now bwfore the GCSE results come out. DS is starting to get nervous....as am I!

lljkk it's not quite that easy, that's 63/80 not 63%, so 79% for a 9.

Still nowhere near as high as everyone was expecting.

MsHarry · 24/08/2017 08:37

DD and friends didn't sleep much. They're excited and getting ready. I'm choosing to ignore music and singing since 8! I've walked the dog and on 3rd coffee! Well to those who've got their results already. BBC breakfast interesting. Didn't know Delia Smith was now a Headteacher!

Piggywaspushed · 24/08/2017 08:39

It's Ok fleur - we love some children almost as much as their parents (in some cases more, sadly!). I have already cried for one this morning :(

We never used to be able to see results so early!

Notanothergiraffe · 24/08/2017 08:41

Hi pasanda and fleur!

I remember our DSs being almost like triplets through the exam period! (I had a slightly different giraffe name then)

We are going in at 9 and waiting in the car park while DS goes in. He is then going for breakfast with his friends.

Aghhh! I just want enough for him to go to first choice sixth form. Fingers crossed for them all!

I am somewhat concerned by the eng teacher earlier who said there was no rhyme nor reason for the results in her class 😬.

Well done to those who have already got results.

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 08:44

Well done to those who have already got there's, great results!

I'm so nervous and feel so powerless sitting here in hospital. Poor DD isn't going in until 11!

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 08:44

theirs

You can tell I'm drugged up

Fleurdelise · 24/08/2017 08:45

Hi Pasanda, ready and Giraffe good luck to your DCs I hope they get what they need.

Ready I know what you mean, I felt like shouting at DS seeing him stressed for the last week, you could have worked harder!!! But no point is it?

littlemissangrypants · 24/08/2017 08:49

I'm another one worrying nervously about results. Ds has dyspraxia and is on autistic spectrum. He worked so so hard to even do his exams and we are hoping for at least 6 Cs to get in to our local school.
If he doesn't get those grades he will go further away to a failing college doing a level 2 IT course even though he is capable of far more. To make it worse we will have to leave our holiday to return and enrol him in person on Wednesday which won't be much fun.
I just hope he has some good news today

thesleepystorm · 24/08/2017 08:53

Checking in on behalf of my wee brother. V nervous. I doubt he's done particularly well.

He's the baby and I'm much too soft on him.

FuckYouDailyMail · 24/08/2017 08:53

First time on this thread but had to pop in as so pleased for DFS, his teacher phoned and he's got enough to carry onto A level. The kid has had such a hard hand dealt him so this is great news.

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 08:53

Little miss - really hope your DS gets good news. My DD is also Dyspraxic and I really hope her grades reflect all her hard work. It's been so tough for her.

notaflyingmonkey · 24/08/2017 08:54

We go in at 10am for DS's results. He has ASD and low self esteem. I am so worried on his behalf, not least of all because his older sister breezed all As in her results, a tough act to follow. I just hope he has the grades he needs for college.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 24/08/2017 08:54

Am I the only one panicking that the teachers on this thread are talking about my DS when they say "I could cry for one boy" etc.? Blush

Irrational & unlikely I know, but that's how the waiting gets to you!

MsHarry · 24/08/2017 08:57

Ok she's gone in. I've been fine now suddenly got butterflies and having flashbacks to her first day at school. I am premenstrual which doesn't help.

CanIBuffalo · 24/08/2017 08:57

Wish mine would wake up. I might have to make loud noises outside the bedroom door.

Wheelycote · 24/08/2017 08:57

Checking in!

Have been pacing😳 very nervous for him. DD struggled for most of school life, tested for alsorts but nothing came back.

Dreaded parents evenings then at age 13-14 things changed. He took an interest and has worked really hard. He has big plans and I'm so hoping he gets the results he wants! It could either way😬

pointythings · 24/08/2017 08:58

Those AQA grade boundaries put DD1 right on the edge of a 9 =if she does as well as her mocks - she's in with a chance, she feels the papers were hard but fair. Thanks for posting them, Noble. She'd be delighted with an 8 so she isn't putting the pressure on herself.

HappyMum543 · 24/08/2017 08:58

I feel sick and nervous my son needs to be in school for 10 he's still sleeping I couldn't go to sleep he really needs 6 cs to get in 6 form of his choice. Well done those who have got their results and good luck to those who are waiting I'm sure they will get the results they hope for all the hard work pays off in the end...Star

FuckYouDailyMail · 24/08/2017 08:59

Good luck everyone for your dcFlowers

Madhairday · 24/08/2017 09:04

Anyone know what the AQA English boundaries are? Can't seem to find them on the site.

DiscoDiva70 · 24/08/2017 09:05

My ds is extremely calm and I'm so on edge although I'm not showing that to him!

I've also wondered if its my ds's teacher who cried for him, I just feel so irrational!

Dancergirl · 24/08/2017 09:07

Morning everyone.

I went in to wake dd about 8.30am, she was already awake and had been for a while. At least she slept though, as did I.

We're leaving for school in half an hour. Dd really needs an A in History and at least a 7 in Lang/Lit to secure a scholarship at her new school. But surprisingly the one she is really worrying about is Maths. It's never come easy to her and she was in the bottom set but she had worked incredibly hard and made huge progress. Her set had a great teacher in Year 11 who said they could even get As if they put the work in (IGCSE so still letter grades). Dd will never do Maths again but she just really wants a good grade for her own personal achievement.

Only an hour to go now. Good luck to everyone Flowers

Fleurdelise · 24/08/2017 09:09

Tears are running high here, one girl came out (we're waiting outside) and ran to her mum happy, a few mums (including myself) burst into tears instantly.

Notanothergiraffe · 24/08/2017 09:10

Ahhh. We are sitting in the car park waiting for him to come out...

Iwantacampervan · 24/08/2017 09:11

I'm taking my daughter and her friend into school for 10 - initially she was going to get envelope and come straight out but I've pointed out that many of her teachers will be there and she may want to talk with them (even if she doesn't open the envelope) as she won't see them again. I'm taking a book & cup of tea and I'll sit in the car park or out in the sun to wait.
