First exam is Monday R.S Tuesday we have French listening and reading and writing

starfleet · 14/05/2016 13:13

228 - Next is your friend for suits** especially as many of them come with skinny trousers! They aren't too expensive and there is always a good selection online in clearance section. Or maybe Topman?

DS is quite focused today - he got up early to finish a paper and is now revising Biology. I've just bought him several tubs of Ben & Jerry's ice cream to keep him going Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/05/2016 13:16

slightly heated discussion this morning, when I had to persuade dd that she did need some time to rest this weekend.

catslife · 14/05/2016 13:42

F&H dd also has RS on Monday morning (and on Weds too) - was beginning to think we were the only ones. (I think I said RE earlier).
French Listening and Reading exams on Tuesday morning.
dd already has Core Science GCSE, as she did these exams in Y10, so no Science exams until after half term here.

ShanghaiDiva · 14/05/2016 14:10

Ds has ict theory, 2 chemistry and 2 biology papers next week.
He was out playing rugby most of today so serious revision will be required tomorrow.

FantasyAndHope · 14/05/2016 14:15

DD has done R.S before at a previous school so isn't worried about the exam as she already has a gcse in it
Is it igcse exexcel cats did French?

catslife · 14/05/2016 14:38

F&H it's ordinary GCSE and OCR.

FantasyAndHope · 14/05/2016 16:30

DD has igcse on Tuesday cats she's nervous and yes we are OCR for R.S

TheSecondOfHerName · 14/05/2016 16:35

DS1 has Biology iGCSE on Tuesday and Chemistry iGCSE on Thursday. The multiple choice papers aren't too bad, but he finds the Extended Theory papers difficult, and will struggle to score more than 50% in the Chemistry one.

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 14/05/2016 16:45

Same here with Biology Tues and chemistry Thurs. Then Spanish Fri.
His have been well spaced out, with German and Art now finished. I don't think there are any days he has more than one.
French yesterday was apparently 'easy' Grin and his friends said the same, so hoping they didn't miss something there...

FantasyAndHope · 14/05/2016 16:45

DD has igcse biology and chemistry on Tuesday and Thursday DD finds paper1 fine but paper2 which is mainly experiments hard

MrsGuyOfGisbo · 14/05/2016 17:11

Really impressed that you know what the papers are and how she fells about them - she has a lovely mum! DH & I a bit deficient on that front, was preening that I knew which days the exams were Blush

navylily · 14/05/2016 17:41

MrsGuy - I was pleased with myself for having written all of DS and DSD's exams on our calendar. But then realised I'd got two of them on the wrong day Blush Fortunately they do both have their own timetables too.

Icouldbeknitting · 14/05/2016 18:50

I had a timetable moment this week. DS has one summary timetable with all the exams on and all the revision sessions, that was the one that I'd carefully customised with highlighter to then have him take it back. He also has a personalised exam timetable which has the names of the papers and the times. While I was doing my colouring in on the second copy of the master timetable it occurred to me that it would be a good idea to cross check it with the personalised one. Surprise! He was missing an exam. I was just about to start off on a major panic when he fished another copy of his personalised timetable out of a blazer pocket. This one was dated a month after the one I had, included the missing exam and a changed time on another.

He's going to miss his blazer next year. He has all the important things in his life tucked away in those pockets.

FantasyAndHope · 14/05/2016 19:09

Mrs
DDs school have a portal which tells you what exams there doing what exam board it is and you can see the spefification etc.. And hence me having a discussion with DD about her exams. I like to make sure DD is confident and knows her strengths and weaknesses so revision is effective I also work in a school so know the ins and outs of things

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/05/2016 19:42

Think dd will miss her blazer too - her whole office is kept in her pockets!

I asked her to teach me as much b1 biology as we could fit in an hour. I now know a lot more and it was a fun way to revise I think. Tomorrow I am learning chemistry. I'm going to be dead brainy by the time the exams are over.

Ds1 was very anxious earlier. SadHopefully he's over the worst now. He has biology, Latin and chemistry next week.
Dd is competing at their sport tomorrow and he asked if he could come along to support his friends. I think he needs a break so agreed to take him along. Hopefully we will have a fun day. Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/05/2016 20:36

your poor ds, sounds like an outing is a good idea.

Eurovision tonight! pizza and popcorn for all.

Anyone else paranoid with health? I just saw a friend who I haven't seen for ages. She greeted me with a hug, and then later said she has felt really poorly all week. Don't give me (and possobly also ds) your bug!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/05/2016 22:25

I'm the same! whenever I meet someone who seems to have germs I calculate how long it will be before I could come down with it, and therefore how long dd would take to be recovered if she caught it from me.
It's not great!

Oh the leavers assembly ! Argh. I didn't feel like crying (quite the opposite, I never liked this school for dd) but lots did cry. I feel like a hard, mean person! But I'm looking forward to the future.

228agreenend · 14/05/2016 22:56

Bad kitten. - I've done that calculation!

BlueGazebo · 15/05/2016 08:15

DP has come down with something!

HesMyLobster · 15/05/2016 08:25

Oh noooo! Oh Blue hope it's something that he can shake off quickly.

228agreenend · 15/05/2016 08:38

Blue - oh no. Hope he feels better soon, very soon.

Hyperchondriac me has woken up with a dry sore throat. Time to consume some vitamin tablets.
