Ooh a shiny new thread.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/06/2015 13:21

DD rang to say she was on the bus. FM apparently 'fine...' - but she doesn't think she's done that well on it. Apparently most of it was quite easy except for the last two questions (which I'll guess ahead of further detail were high mark ones).

Still - bar her forensics on that (she's as bad as her father used to be when we were at uni for exam post-mortems) we're done Grin.

TeenAndTween · 19/06/2015 13:30

Lovely pictures dingit

I took DD to get her nails done today for prom. First time either of us had been in a nail bar. Anyway she is delighted with the result so that's good.

I got a little bit teary today when DD text after her last exam. It made me laugh too - it said 'DONE'

She is in school later for a dance rehearsal, at Rock Challenge regional finals tomorrow, leavers assembly and Prom on Tuesday and that is it.

I feel a bit odd - I have been wishing away the weeks wanting it all to be over and now she's actually left school I am all nostalgic. She is my PFB so first time experiencing the end of school.

tbtc · 19/06/2015 13:46

Miss
DS1 still has Italian on Monday. He is currently out on his bike with his mate.

We ARE going to get a prom suit tomorrow. We HAVE to, because I am out of the country for a week.

LineRunner · 19/06/2015 13:55

Flowers to all of you who kept me sane with information and kind words and witticisms.

DS is finished! Further Maths was apparently pretty good, inasmuch as he counted up his certain and probable marks and should have enough for the magical C. Which would be fantastic.

He has a picnic-on-the-common type party this evening. He looks massively less stressed, and he even let me take a picture of him in his uniform when he got home before it gets binned! (Thank you for the idea for this btw.)

canny1234 · 19/06/2015 14:10

Thank you Thewordfactory.3 jackets have been duly ordered from H&M along with a pair of trousers to match.
Missclemency Dorothy Perkins have lots of cheap Jersey dresses that DD is keeping for sixth form wear .I'm not sure how they will wash and last though ( as are around £7-8 in the sale) but they look nice on.
Dh muttering about the cost of the prom nails and hairdo. He's notoriously mean and doesn't waste money on what he perceives as inessentials. So he's upset her Angry.Grandparents bought the dress and jewellery and silver bag.I bought the shoes only. Now she says she's going to drink water at the prom as he made her feel so guilty for spending her savings on clothes for next year.

Ginandtonictime · 19/06/2015 14:12

That's it, end of exams, last of my children to finish school. It's just hit me, no more uniform buying Ever. All those routine things to do with school life for the past 17/18 years will never happen again. ????

HSMMaCM · 19/06/2015 14:24

Loving all these beautiful photos.

MrsB same here. School's out for summer, schools out forever.

dingit · 19/06/2015 14:42

Lovely seeing photos of everyone's dc.

canny that's very helpful, I may need your help on the starting year 12 thread.

Horsemad · 19/06/2015 14:54

Congrats to all the finishers! Grin I'm loving the first and last day photos. DS very grumpy because his brother is sapping the internet signal with his revision videos and thus spoiling his Xbox time!! Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 19/06/2015 14:56

I mentioned to DD that I ought to take a last photo of her in her uniform but she refused. The first school ones aren't digital anyway (she's a little woebegone scrap in the nursery one, they got better from there on).

Will have to broach clothes shopping sometime - she does sort of know that 2 identical pairs of black skinnies aren't enough. She wanted some coloured ones (high waisted, not blue or peach or that maroon colour or any that I've actually seen in the last year....Hmm) - think she's missed the boat on those. Bloody fashion.

Horsemad · 19/06/2015 15:02

DS has to wear a uniform in 6th form. Different colour trousers, blazer and tie. Business suits are de rigueur in several 6th forms around here.

dingit · 19/06/2015 15:15

Errol, my dds first day at school picture wasn't digital, I took a photo of the framed picture on the wall Smile ( hence the blur)

ErrolTheDragon · 19/06/2015 15:27

Come to think, DH has probably scanned it... but if DD came across it on the web I'm not sure my life would be worth living. Grin

tbtc · 19/06/2015 15:41

OMG, I am not going to be here for the last day. H won't take a photo, I know it.

Sidge · 19/06/2015 15:51

We're finished!!

DD said Physics was awful but I think she's beyond caring now. They're done and that's it now until results day.

She's currently in the hairdressers/beauty salon getting titivated for Prom tonight, which will be a lovely way to end her schooldays.

Loving all the start and finish pics, here are mine Smile

Tbtc I didn't get a last day photo - it would have caused a complete meltdown in the morning and she wasn't in uniform by the time she got home. And it wasnt really the last day because she had to go back in to do the ECDL - the school didn't do a last day, but the Y11s organised their own shirt signing after DD's last examConfused

LineRunner · 19/06/2015 15:55

I just took DS's chewed up biros and his pack of Wrigley's out of his blazer pocket for the last time and started to cry. What in the name of buggery is wrong with me? Grin

auntpetunia · 19/06/2015 16:00

WineWineCake YIPPPEEEEEEEEEE At last it's all over. Physics was apparently ok, despite the panicked phone call at 8.30, that his scribe was off sick and what should he do with the presents, the obvious answer of give to HOY to pass on wasn't even on his radar, that is the level of stress hes been under. He wouldn't normaly even tell me she wasn't in and would just sort it.

We now have to check the prom suit still fits as all the enforced inactivity along with lack of climbing have made a few of his jeans too tight so I'm hoping the suit is ok, he's seen shoes he likes and hes booked himself in for a cut throat shave in an old worlde barbers by us for the week of the prom.

For anyone who is still going next week. Good luck.
