Mocks this week, and the reality of AS exams in a few months is starting to hit home. I don't think it will be an easy journey, so would welcome some company.

Yes, hope the cat has reappeared or does soon Sad xx

Dd2 has gone into school this morning for a final Spanish speaking mock. Hope she comes back happy!

GentlyBenevolent · 02/05/2015 12:13

She's been missing for two weeks. I don't think she is coming back I think she was stolen or killed. :( She's only 9 months old. She's actually DD2's cat - DD1's cat and DS's cat are safe and sound - but everyine is uoset about the missing cat AND DD2's extreme distress is also upsetting for the other two to witness. DD1 also has the problem that her cat is the missing cats sister and is possibly the most upset out of all of us. :(

SecretSquirrels · 02/05/2015 12:58

Two weeks is too long I fear. Sad
The trouble with cats is that they can just disappear and you are left imagining what might have happened. Makes you wonder whether it's worth having pets at all. DS's cat has gone missing and been found locked in a barn 4 times. Not always the same barn and never more than 2 days though.

So DD has had a sore throat since Friday and it has developed into a full blown cold today. She is currently lying in bed coughing away ....and has an exam at 9am tomorrow. Fingers crossed that she gets some sleep.

AtiaoftheJulii · 04/05/2015 23:05

Argh! Lots of drugs x

Good luck to her for the morning xx

hellsbells99 · 04/05/2015 23:46

Thanks Atia. I have left her some Beechams all-in-1 tablets in the kitchen as I will have gone to work when she gets up. I hope she is all right taking them as she is asthmatic and has allergies - fingers crossed (I have checked the ingredients). Hopefully she won't need them.

Woody47 · 04/05/2015 23:49

Chemistry Empa here tomorrow shock Study leave begins on 8th

hellsbells99 · 04/05/2015 23:53

Same here Woody - although I think study leave is from Friday.

Needmoresleep · 05/05/2015 00:05

Biology here. Possibly the most difficult paper of all for dyslexic DD. Still better to get the worst over first.

Spanish speaking here tomorrow morning. Good luck to them all, hope all goes well Star

hellsbells99 · 05/05/2015 06:35

Good luck to all this morning.
DD eventually fell asleep about 2am and is still sleeping so hope she feels better when she wakes up. Off to work now.

MorvahRising · 05/05/2015 18:07

Hope everyone did OK today and that hellsbells DD was feeling better by the time she got to the exam.

DS doesn't have his first one til 13th. Is anyone else in a major panic about the maths C4 paper? DS's class has just got back the mock papers and apparently they were all disastrous! Thank goodness the exam isn't til June 16th . . . . .

AtiaoftheJulii · 05/05/2015 18:27

Dd1 (y13) has been getting terrible marks in C4 past papers, but she isn't bothered - she reckons she understood it when she learnt it and a day of proper revision will sort her out. Don't know quite whether to Grin or Sad !

Woody47 · 05/05/2015 18:33

Very happy with the chemistry EMPA.Good job because physics empa was not good apparently .Well 35/40 sounds good, but it isn't and will probably equate to a B sad

MorvahRising · 05/05/2015 23:35

Atia ?? I'll just have to hope DS can pull it out of the bag in the same way!

MorvahRising · 05/05/2015 23:43

Not quite sure where those little boxes in my last post came from!

woody it is a bit depressing isn't it? DS will wander in and say 'I got 77% in that past paper," and I say oh well done, that's good, and he looks worried and says but it's not an A . . . . it seems like nothing short of top marks will do, and that's unlikely. Where do they get all this pressure from? Glad the chemistry went well though.

DD came home after yesterday's exam and slept for the afternoon. She is still rough this morning and has another exam at 9am - physics written EMPA paper. The exams have not started well Sad

AtiaoftheJulii · 06/05/2015 08:01

Oh poor girl Sad Hope she feels much better soon x

Dd2 said that Spanish went pretty well, she thinks. So, phew. French speaking on Friday.

Marni23 · 06/05/2015 08:18

That's such bad luck Hellsbells, hope she recovers quickly. DS has come down with something similar and I've virtually put him in quarantine in case he passes it on to DD. Think I'll go and get some manuka honey to dose her up with on the off-chance that it works as a preventative measure!

Marni23 · 06/05/2015 08:22

Glad the Spanish went well Atia

GentlyBenevolent · 06/05/2015 09:01

DD1 has grade 8 flute today. It's only her third study (already has grade 8 recorders and singing) but she still wants to do well obviously. Bit of good news though, she entered a poetry competition last term, didn't win, forgot about it - heard today she was long listed and they will be publishing her poem with the other long listed entries. So that's good, it's made her happy. She still hasn't done her timed condition sleeve notes for music though - she's ready to roll but the school keep putting it off and suggested Monday - which she feels is taking it to the wire a bit! Hopefully they will let her do it tomorrow. Problem is because she has a SpLD it's that little bit more faff for them, since she uses a computer to write.

GentlyBenevolent · 06/05/2015 16:27

Our missing kitten has returned!!! :) everyine is very happy. In other good news DD1 got full marks for her english coursework which can't be anything other than good, surely. And apparently the music exams were ok.

AtiaoftheJulii · 06/05/2015 16:54

Hooray!!!

So glad about the kitten ?? And well done for the coursework and music exam!

MorvahRising · 06/05/2015 22:11

Great news about the kitten Smile and the Spanish and music exams!

hellsbells hope the EMPA went OK and DD feels better.

limefizz the C4 paper is (I think) a further maths one. What possessed us at the time to agree to DS doings maths and further maths I can't imagine, but everyone who got an A at GCSE got put in that group and he really wanted to do it. His teachers say he is perfectly able to do the work, but he gets incredibly anxious in maths tests and then goes blank. The other subjects are not a problem! I am hoping Atia*'s DDs method will work for him . . . . !
