Here we go........hold on tight!

glaurung yes I'd get that note if the doctor's offered, then let school deal with it and write to the exam board.

Chemistry seemed to go ok today for DD thank goodness. Next up is English lit tomorrow.

Overall stress levels are ok thank goodness but she has being even more picky than usual about food- while we all eat a hot meal she sits there with rice cakes, hummus and pickled onions. I swear she's eaten a whole jar of onions today.

BackforGood · 21/05/2012 16:03

DS said chemistry "wasn't as bad as he expected, but still not great" - not filling me with confidence that then Hmm

Quiet week now, only physics on Thursday.

Kez100 · 21/05/2012 16:15

Daughter said science didn't cover anything she had revised but she finished in 15 mins (it's one of those 40min modules). Surely you can't finish that quickly if you don't know any of it???? Oh well, thank goodness it was a resit so she has the previous grade to bank if it was a complete disaster.

And now on to a biggie, English Lit.......

Chemistry was "not too bad". English Lit tomorrow.

empirestateofmind, a whole jar of pickled onions! I thought my DD's exam eating habits were odd but your DD's are weirder.

cardibach · 21/05/2012 16:52

DD's verdict on CHemistry: 'I don't want to jinx anything but I think it went quite well'. THat's good then!

English Lit tomorrow which is my teaching subject and which she wants to take to A Level (and possibly degree). No pressure...

empirestateofmind · 21/05/2012 17:37

sue it is strange isn't it- she even has them for breakfast sometimes.

BackforGood · 21/05/2012 17:39

Sounds like an odd pregnancy craving to me Wink

maddiemostmerry · 21/05/2012 17:42

Biology today which seemed to go quite well.

English lit tomorrow, not his favourite subject!

bruffin · 21/05/2012 18:08

Ds seemed to think biology went well as well, but he knows he got one wrong.

BeingFluffy · 21/05/2012 18:11

DD thought Biology (AQA) had one easy paper and one quite hard!

maddiemostmerry · 21/05/2012 20:10

Ds said the second biology paper was more difficult.

silverdarling · 21/05/2012 20:29

Are we on different boards to everyone else then? Physics and Spanish today a tough start, but two down!

BrigitBigKnickers · 21/05/2012 20:35

DD said the chemistry iGCSE was OK today- she got a high B in the paper she did yesterday so here's hoping for a similar result in todays paper.

Nothing tomorrow and then Physics and PE theory on Weds. Will be sooooooo pleased to get rid of the sciences. She was gleefully tearful at 11am today at the thought that she never has to do chemistry again!

I feel a ritual book burning coming on!

gettingalifenow · 21/05/2012 20:37

We are all on different boards, silver, and it's really unnerving - people keep saying 'science today' or 'English ' and I'm thinking 'no! We missed it' then see its not our board.... It's very disconcerting...!

maddiemostmerry · 21/05/2012 20:39

Yes, different boards. DS biology is AQA.

BeingFluffy · 21/05/2012 21:23

Well DD has finally realised that she has to revise. She was up til late revising her biology and has been reading To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies in prep for her English exams this week; she also has Chemistry and Latin this week; she is getting rather stressed. I hope she hasn't left it too late and thrown away the high grades she banked so far; but at least for exams in the future the penny might finally have dropped.

BringBack1996 · 21/05/2012 22:14

2 down, 23 to go here! DS thought that the first biology (AQA) was harder than the second but put that down to bad time management. English lit tomorrow and he's read through some revision guides tonight. Fingers crossed it'll be enough!

Latin, OTOH, is proving a bit more tricky. The penny's finally dropped that he has less than a week to learn his vocabulary list and grammar and it's all getting a bit much. Last night was the first time in a while that we've had tears from him :(

BackforGood · 21/05/2012 23:37

Yes, it is very worrying when you see a subject your dc is doing, but they've not been in for today Grin.

magentadreamer · 22/05/2012 06:41

The dreaded English Lit for DD today. DD has worked extremely hard for this, unfortunately for DD this won't be reflected in her grade. I'm hoping she gets a B grade - even if it's a skin of her teeth B grade but I suspect a C grade will be in the offing. If only there was a BTEC in English Lit DD would be far more suited and could show her understanding of the texts she's done far better than sitting in an exam hall knowing she will not be able to get everything down. The even more dreaded English Language papers are next week. DD is in yr10 and has 10 modules this time.

Cardi, DD plus a family friend say thank you for the OMAM revision booklet.

happystory · 22/05/2012 06:45

Good luck to all our dcs taking English Lit today!

magentadreamer · 22/05/2012 07:20

Dd is up and dressed, apparently there is a last minute revision session at 8am in the dinning hall with breakfast provided. Excellent idea to ensure that rumbling tums don't disturb anyone Grin

bruffin · 22/05/2012 07:47

DS went off full of spaghetti hoops on toast,so hopefully no rumbly tummy there
He is doing An Inspector Calls and the Purple Hibiscus

knittedslippersx3 · 22/05/2012 08:36

Of Mice and Men and Lord of the Flies here.
She went in early for breakfast revision, they hand out free bacon baps!
Hoping to eek out a B here also.

webwiz · 22/05/2012 08:52

magentadreamer that's hard work taking both English language and English lit in year 10 - have they left some of the controlled assessments for next year? DS has completed all the English Language stuff in year 10 and has the exam next week and that has been fairly flat out.

empirestateofmind · 22/05/2012 09:01

Pride and Prej and An Inspector Calls here.

Backforgood nooooo don't go there. Luckily DD is too shy to even speak to a boy so I am putting it down to exam nerves.
