Scottish Elections who do you think will take the majority of Seats?

As a Scot I genuinely have no idea who to vote for.

I dont trust the SNP and find John Swinney completely incompetent. I wouldnt trust him to run my household budget let alone the countries so he is out for me. I cant stand labour, the tories well are not my cup of tea, lib dems and green would never get my vote.

However i dont seem to be alone in having no idea who to vote for which leaves me wondering who will take the majority of seats across Scotland. What do others think will happen?

No

The resolution was for an SNP majority in parliament

This has not happened

Ergo no referendum

@XDownwiththissortofthingX a Russian invasion would unlikely to be troops on the ground but interference in our territorial waters and airspace. They are already getting dangerously close at times in both respects with the RAF being scrambled on numerous occasions. Also Russian spy ships have been spotted in our waters but under the guise of fishing vessels, which the navy have been monitoring.

The potential disruption could be huge. Shetland had its internet connection disrupted a couple of years ago. This was blamed on fishing trawlers but Russian ships had been in the area. What this meant was that hospital and GP’s were unable to access medical information, emergency calls were not connecting and at a basic level, people could only purchase goods if they had cash. Just think of this type of sabotage on a bigger scale, that is the worry.

Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland all now have pro independence parties in power. Maybe it’s time for England to get independence.

Sorry you've got the wrong end of the stick. I'm absolutely not blaming teachers for the Curriculum for Excellence that they are forced to teach.
That lies 100% with Scot Gov / SNP

It was introduced by Labour.

Oh yes, I'm totally devastated at a 5th successive SNP government, a landslide victory, an increase in pro-indi MSP's, corresponding decrease in right-wing MSP's, and the fact my idiot Constituency MSP has been punted into the ether, hopefully never to be heard of again.

Cried myself to sleep every night since.

😂

🤣👍

Curriculum for Excellence was developed by Labour and implemented by SNP in 2010.

Now education levels have been continually declining since 2006. WhatsApp do you do.

Do you do nothing, come out of PISA and hope no one notices that overall we are worse than England. Or do you start sounding the alarm bells, conduct research into reversing the trend to ensure that we have the brightest of minds to run our country post independence?

Will give you a clue, it’s not the former.

I merely made a comment. FWIW, as much as I dislike the CfE, I think the presumption of mainstream is a worse problem. As are children going to secondary barely literate. Though the latter isn’t new.

Differentforgirls · 11/05/2026 08:41

The SNP ran a minority Govt in 2010 so didn’t implement it alone.

YellingAway · 11/05/2026 08:59

@Differentforgirls that explains it then and how they haven’t been able to do anything about it since!

They had one period as a majority Govt. It started in 2011.

Nimonion · 11/05/2026 09:21

If the SNP said CfE is clearly not working, let’s go back to knowledge based learning would opposition MSPs object?

If the SNP said presumption of mainstream clearly isn’t working let’s reopen PRUs and special schools would opposition MSPs object?

Being a minority government is no excuse for the lack of critical reflection and then action from the SNP. No action has been taken as the SNP doesn’t want to admit isn’t mistakes and any money has long ago been spaffed on public sector pay rises and benefit handouts.

You do realise there’s more than one party in Holyrood? Any other party could introduce the topic or table a private members bill like the recent assisted dying one.

But there’s not much point doing that if the SNP and Green lackeys are going to vote as a block against it, which they may well do as the funding of these changes would mean redirecting money from vote buying (higher public sector salaries - by some margin - than anywhere else in the UK and higher benefits) to actual public services which everyone can enjoy the benefit of.

It also makes you wonder why there is an education secretary in the first place.

Laziness then.

Laziness then.

No, reality.

Shame the SNP doesn't seem to want any real improvements in education - but you know what they say about insanity and doing the same thing over again.

Dear god no - it would be Brexit on steroids. We've suffered enough.

How can you say an issue to sway your vote is education when the SNP have created the joke that is today's Scottish education system?

As someone who is both a parent, and works in education, I'm actually embarrassed at the shambles the SNP have made of our schools.

The education system is dumbed down rubbish, standards are falling and support for additional needs is shocking.

Things were way better 20 years ago

Couldn't have put it better myself!

I also don't see why any woman would vote for SNP or Green.

Helpmaboa · 14/05/2026 14:03

Have you seen the Green phd person being sworn in..? 🙈
