Scotland under Green Party leadership - your thoughts?

What would it be like?

I’m envisaging governance by people the majority of whom have never worked outside Scottish politics.

Dark unsafe streets - street lights and flood lighting of our historic buildings a waste of energy.

People openly shooting up on street corners - those not occupied by prostitutes. No prisons except for what they deem ‘violent crimes’, so presumably burglars and drug pushers free to ply their trade; shoplifting effectively decriminalised leading to fewer shops and choice - perhaps major chains pulling out.

The decamping over the Border of the higher rate taxpayers who don’t work for the state resulting in huge loss of tax revenue. Same for large companies. Presumably therefore massive increases in public borrowing?

Am I a pessimist?

Kate Neven (the one who wants to abolish prisons) is also keen to pay reparations for slavery. She doesn’t seem to have the slightest clue how fucked the Scottish economy is. I was listening to an IFS podcast where the head of the Fraser of Allander Institute said the only hope of the Scottish government remotely paying the SNHS vastly inflated payroll this year is hoping the UK government chuck them some one off consequentials to make up for the UK government bailing out English councils SEND bills. Relying on a one off payment to plug a hole in this year’s pay. That’s the stupidity of the Scottish government. I can only conclude they thought they’d get Indy soon and so walk away from the bin fire into a far bigger one. Or by truly imploding the economy they can claim Indy is the only way to fix it. Or some such nonsense to fool the gullible.

2027/28 is the year the Scottish economy implodes. But yes, let’s pay money to people who weren’t personally affected even though we weren’t personally responsible either. They’re brain dead cretins.

Listen to the podcast if you want to fully understand the shit we are in:

ifs.org.uk/articles/what-does-election-mean-scotlands-future

Madness so she is expecting people who were not born at the time of slavery to pay millions to people who were not born either when slavery existed. The woman is an absolute liability.

Wouldn’t put it past them …

Every project they’ve touched has been a disaster.

I certainly wouldn't put it past Mad Maggie Chapman. She's completely bat shit.

We've had her, Lorna 'Gingerbread Man' Slater, the permanently furious Patrick Harvie, Ross 'Meep' Greer and a litany of know nothing activists in positions of unearned power due to desperate power sharing deals. I can only hope that the voters who seem to fondly think that they are a cozy, environmental group wake up before the elections.

Gads!! We got our white envelopes through from Nigel..No thanks min straight into recycling bin.

We haven't had the pleasure of a communication from Nigel but it will be going straight in the bin, unread.

Interestingly, my husband got one and my elderly relatives… I did not. Almost like their demographic are angry males and the out of touch elderly.

It’s worth a read though. Batshit.

The one that went in the bin quickest was one of Alex Cole Hamilton with the top few buttons of his shirt undone. We don’t want a politicians version of soft porn in our house thanks.

The one where the photographer has clearly gone 'smoulder! smoulder for the camera, it just loves you!' - ACH might as well be pouting and doing a love heart with his fingers. Honestly, I wanted to shriek 'my eyes, my eyes!!!'

ACH is almost as bad as the Greens, the Tory - lite twat.

Nimonion · 11/04/2026 21:00

The Green Party literature was very quiet on their batshit trans rights views which are the main reason I’d avoid them like the plague. It mentioned Gaza and renewables and that was about it.

The ‘did it for Beth’ was the final nail in my Lib Dem voting days. What an arsehole.

I'm really worried about the greens getting in.
I know someone who is a very envious type and spends an extortionate amount of time counting how much money everyone has - neighbours, school parents, colleagues at work and even his relatives. His dream is for the greens to be in charge of Scotland and give us independence. Imagine that happening. Independence under the greens...

If he poured as much energy into earning money himself…

there's extreme left or extreme right and no one in between, or at least no party that the marjority of people seem to want to vote for.
This will be the year of protest votes as opposed to sensible voting.

I fear that you’re right ( as in correct, not Tory or reform!!)

The worry is votes for the barking Greens on the party list. I usually vote tactically for the most likely candidate - usually Labour- to keep the SNP out. I despise Labour …,

And I’ll tell you this - I’d rather have Reform
party list candidates over Green - and I can’t say worse than that!! There are less of them so less likely to form a block that might align itself with SNP in another horror show.

Scarily so would I and I cant stand Reform.

People would be sharing pictures online of roads they have found that have no potholes.

Apparently not.
