SQA results 2025

Starting a results thread early, and the last one I'll do as DD has now left school!

DD has an unconditional offer for uni so these grades don't make a difference but they still matter to us, especially after the C in History last year when she was on track for an A (bastard SQA). So hoping for a good grade for AH History.

She's also doing 2 other Highers, one of them we had to complain about the teachers (long process involving GTCS, LA and SQA, all upheld), so again really hoping the grade gives a right twos-up to that teacher.

Outwardly she doesn't seem to be stressing - more worried about passing her driving test than passing her exams, probably cause of the UC offer. But I know if she passes the subject with the godawful teacher she'll be emotional.

Hows everyone else's kids doing?

text came, A, B and a fail for the AH but she has an unconditional so isn't bothered too much (I am though as its History and still smarting from last year)

One kid dancing around

the other still waiting … so cruel SQA

Therapee · 05/08/2025 08:28

Nat 5s in... All better than expected!! Sooo relieved (and proud!)

LoopyGremlin · 05/08/2025 08:29

Well done to those who have secured what they needed 😀 We are at the mercy of the post which generally comes about 2pm. I’m on tenterhooks but DS is sound asleep 😂

Email has arrived here. AAABB at higher. Which I think is excellent. DD is upset though as she wanted an A in art and didn’t get it. She emerged from her room in tears. She puts too much pressure on herself. I think once the shock/ adrenalin is over she will be pleased

That's amazing results!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 05/08/2025 08:32

Finally got text - hallelujah. 3 As and a B! Very glad this will be the last year we do this particular waiting game. Congratulations to everyone who got what they wanted/ needed and best wishes to anyone who is dealing with a disappointed DC this morning.

BirdyBedtime · 05/08/2025 08:33

DS has done well - ABBBC. Getting a B in Higher Maths was a miracle (thank the lord for our fantastic tutor as he failed the prelim).

He's disappointed in his C though which was in Graphic Comms which he has been an A for all through the year. Will need to wait for the post to see the percentage but we'll probably stick in an appeal for that one.

Not quite enough for the unconditional he wanted as he needed an A in either chemistry or maths but means if he does ok in his AH Chemistry he'll be in. So overall a good morning

Well done to everyone and hope the disappointed DCs can get the support they need to find the right path for them.

After what felt like an eternity of waiting they came through via text a few minutes ago. 5 A's for his highers which is a relief as he wasn't sure on 1 of them and he needs 5 for his UCAT submission for next year.
He's so happy and I am so proud and relieved for him.

Good luck to all those still waiting and well done to everyone so far.

Itawapuddytat · 05/08/2025 08:34

I think DS is quite disappointed as he was hoping for A at English and he got a B. Well, that would have made S6 easier, but it is what it is. He will probably need to reconsider what he wants to do for S6 - or work REALLY, REALLY hard on what he has chosen so far to get at least 1 or 2 As.

Thank you, the stress for all the children and parents is ridiculous, not sure I can stand this next year for his AH's.

ChocoChocoLatte · 05/08/2025 08:36

Did anyone else have an issue with Higher English?

we’re two grades lower than predicted here…. And just don’t understand it…..

LowlandLassie · 05/08/2025 08:36

Waiting for post here as dd didn’t want to wake up to a text. She’s just finished s5 and waiting on results of 4 highers. She’s worked hard this year despite ongoing health issues, so we’re proud whatever the outcome, but she can be hard on herself.

KassandraOfSparta · 05/08/2025 08:37

two grades lower than predicted for Drama here, and one for RMPS.

We got two really odd results last year. Put an appeal in for the B that they never got less than 95% all year for but of course it was rejected. Seems like a rubbish new way of running the appeals system. It’s was a totally inexplicable result.

imfae · 05/08/2025 08:39

Results just come through for Highers ; A, A,B,C,C. Will mean juggling about course choices for this year .
Well done to all the DC ( and parents …) . Hope everyone else hears soon x

cazzyg · 05/08/2025 08:40

4 As and a C here. She's disappointed with the C but in fairness a lot of things came to light just before the Easter holidays that hadn't been taught properly in that subject.

soupmaker · 05/08/2025 08:40

Thrilled for our DD. Ended S6 on a high with all A’s and now she’ll be going to her university of choice.

DS got a B and was predicted an A - but he's always been on the lower end. He got a B to start at Nat 5 (69%) and upgraded to an A on appeal - so I think a B is probably fair.

I’m guessing medicine given you wrote UCAT instead of UCAS - another exam on your mind!

Congratulations!

ChocoChocoLatte · 05/08/2025 08:42

@Gardeningisrubbishindeed. Covid ruined appeals for everyone and now it’s just remarks.

and I’m the parent of a Covid kid. Dc1 only Sat Nat 5s before it all shut down but left school with 7 highers and 2 AH …….

I think that is what happened to DS with Graphic Comms - he spent the whole year saying the teacher wasn't teaching them (and to be honest having spoken to him at parents evening for years now he loves the sound of his own voice, but not necessarily always on topic.)

DD just got hers. Straight As at N5.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/08/2025 08:47

AAAAB here at Higher. Delighted! All his uni choices still in play (although the subject he got a B in would have been helpful as an A as it now means for his top choice he needs an A in an untested subject at AH as he will need 2 A’s AH and 3 A’s in 3 different subjects) but still, very pleased with the results! Text didn’t come through till about 8.10 so it was a bit nerve wracking waiting.
