SQA results 2025

Starting a results thread early, and the last one I'll do as DD has now left school!

DD has an unconditional offer for uni so these grades don't make a difference but they still matter to us, especially after the C in History last year when she was on track for an A (bastard SQA). So hoping for a good grade for AH History.

She's also doing 2 other Highers, one of them we had to complain about the teachers (long process involving GTCS, LA and SQA, all upheld), so again really hoping the grade gives a right twos-up to that teacher.

Outwardly she doesn't seem to be stressing - more worried about passing her driving test than passing her exams, probably cause of the UC offer. But I know if she passes the subject with the godawful teacher she'll be emotional.

Hows everyone else's kids doing?

Its S5 for us, so slightly lower stakes but a decent set of results would take some pressure off for S6.

I was just reminiscing about having to go to school to get results and having to open them in front of everyone. At least a text gives you a bit of privacy.

Plus getting my degree results from a piece of paper pinned to a notice board for everyone to see.

Good luck to everyone! DD is waiting for her Nat 5 results but seems very relaxed about it. Just me that's worried. She didn't sign up for text/email (too lazy!) so will be waiting on the postie here.

SQA have confirmed there will be delays to the results being posted out. Seems largely to be the Islands.

Again ? Every year there is some sort of problem with late results in areas, missing texts/emails or blank results..

Yes! My son has not signed up for the text (typical laissez-faire attitude of a teen) so I’ll be hoping we receive our post 🙏🏻

Well I’ve somehow got through the work day. Will we sleep tonight?

DD is a bit worried about AH History as the paper was 'hard' but feels fairly confident about one of her Highers. The other Higher is the one with a teacher we've had to complain about legally, to the sqa, msp, gtcs etc so who knows what grade she'll get for that?
We're buying her a second hand car tomorrow (she doesn't know), to help her commute to uni, to say well done on her exams (assuming she passes) and more than anything to reflect the really shitty year she's had with that teacher and the resilience she's shown.
I'll report back on her reaction to her grades (and the car - which she'll get at night if it passes DH's inspection!)

I don't think we can blame the SQA for Storm Floris! The islands have had no ferries, so no post.

Been awake since 4.30am stressing…Luckily my daughter is much more relaxed about it all!

Staying up late in the hope of avoiding waking up too early didn’t exactly go to plan… Hopefully DS is still asleep. Mostly worried about two of his highers, one his teacher was dreadful and the other (Philosophy) he tells me that they hadn’t covered everything that had come up and the paper format was a bit different this year.

Last year DS1 got the blank text/email so that was stressful for us him - hoping it’s not repeated this year for DS1&2 6th/4th year.

DS1 has an unconditional so he’s more relaxed. First time for DS2 so he’s definitely feeling the pressure (not from us!).

Also didn't get any sleep. DS still sleeping peacefully though-sure we worry more than they do! Good luck to all. It's going to be a long hour.

What did your DC do in previuos years if they got a blank text?

had to wait until the SQA sent the correct results. I think it was around 9.45

Not long to go now . Good luck x Waiting on higher results , but DC was staying on this year anyway .
Not sure if we will get the results emailed through as not sure if registered to do so .Difficulty will be getting them awake …

I seem to remember that he just had to wait - he got several blank ones in a row. There was a news story about it at the time because so many people got the blank ones.

It eventually came through late morning, so I suppose it was a bit like having to wait for the post to come, but very frustrating at the time.

Morning all. The nervous wait here too. DS is sound asleep but has an alarm set for 8am. I'm hoping we'll hear one way or another soon, whether it's UCAS, SQA or his uni of choice. My DD is actually in another country with her friend! I don't love that they're opening them together - exam results are not meant to be opened with friends. They are already up and talking through all the scenarios and rehashing the exam papers.
