SQA results 2025

Starting a results thread early, and the last one I'll do as DD has now left school!

DD has an unconditional offer for uni so these grades don't make a difference but they still matter to us, especially after the C in History last year when she was on track for an A (bastard SQA). So hoping for a good grade for AH History.

She's also doing 2 other Highers, one of them we had to complain about the teachers (long process involving GTCS, LA and SQA, all upheld), so again really hoping the grade gives a right twos-up to that teacher.

Outwardly she doesn't seem to be stressing - more worried about passing her driving test than passing her exams, probably cause of the UC offer. But I know if she passes the subject with the godawful teacher she'll be emotional.

Hows everyone else's kids doing?

Schools will have them tomorrow.

We used to get access to them the equivalent of tomorrow, but now we have a new HT and only SLT will be able to look. We get access on Tuesday, same as the kids.

YouBelongWithMe · 03/08/2025 18:40

So essentially, it'll depend on your individual schools' policy!

Toxictownie · 03/08/2025 19:01

I usually get sent a spreadsheet with results for all pupils/subjects mid-morning/afternoon on results day so often after the pupils will have received theirs (if they get the text). Not sure if senior management get them tomorrow though / other schools differ. :)

I’m starting to tweak out. Can anyone reassure me that following prelims with solid revision grades can improve? (Nat 5)

DD is suddenly getting anxious which I do hope isn’t because of me

Ineedcoffeenow · 03/08/2025 21:03

DD failed all of her Nat 5 prelims (did very little revision. She got 3x A, 3x B and 1x D (bloody maths). She’s dyslexic so we were over the moon. It is possible!

Ralstan · 03/08/2025 21:07

So nervous. DS got 3 As 1B 2Cs and a fail in physics in prelims. But he said exams were ok for physics but difficult in the ones he got As in so just to call it.

Also concerned he relaxed a bit after prelims and didn't do as much revision as he could have. Probably have no sleep for the next 2 nights :(

I'm with you on this. So nervous

RausageSoul · 03/08/2025 21:15

It’s really reassuring to know it’s not just me! I just fear that such an effort doesn’t translate and she thinks ‘what’s the bloody point!’

I know it’s not the end of the world but by his do I need to have a word with myself!

her tracking had her at target 1 but working grades at 4. But with top marks for attendance and effort so felt she had no real focus areas! Prelims were mixed and maths is a worry as I don’t think school let you do higher if you don’t get A or B

Well done to her on such great grades! Maths can get in the sea if you ask me!

Not sure if all the teachers get results tomorrow though - it might only be exam officers and senior management? There is a teacher on this thread, perhaps she can help?

Sometimes I just get them when the new term starts - depends if I'm around to go into school!

ladyamy · 03/08/2025 21:18

Why bastard SQA?

Why bastard SQA?

Anything they’ve done in particular? Or just a general rant (which I’m with you on)?

Willowback · 03/08/2025 22:19

I'm sure the head at our school said she would get them on the Thursday before.

Ipadannie · 03/08/2025 22:26

Aw good luck to everyone waiting. In case things dont go to plan or are better than expected remember the exam results helpline is here to provide support and a listening ear - 08009178000

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/08/2025 23:06

@RausageSoul DS got a D in the prelim for one of his Nat 5s. Not a subject he had natural ability for - delighted to end up with a B in the actual exam after a good dose of hard work. Turns out he was one point off an A.

I’m sure my DS’s Nat 5 results were through at 8am last year.

Waiting for S5 highers results. My DS didn’t get round to signing up for text results service this year. Hopefully they will still have his details from last year. Waiting for the postman to arrive at 2pm will be too much for me! He doesn’t seem to care.

I'm glad to hear my DC isn't the only one that didn't sign up for MySQA 🙈

First ever results day in our house, think I'm marginally more nervous. 😬

Yes for N5 they can. My youngest got 2 C 1 D and 3 no award in his N5 prelims. Pulled it up to 3B 2C and a D in the exams.

Aarrgh DC have just realised that they missed an email to reactivate their account so won't get the email or text tomorrow and will have to wait for the post. Our post doesn't arrive until lunchtime usually.

Do you have any conditional university offers? They will hear from UCAS if they got in first thing. Though if not, you might want to try phoning school for results if you are trying clearing. My DC was stood at the pavement for a couple of hours one year looking for the postie!

No - S5 and planning to go to uni after S6. Frustrating but perhaps a good life lesson in attention to detail!

user1476613140 · 04/08/2025 10:43

DS is keen to find out how he did with one of his papers because one of the invigilators mucked up on the day by reading the transcript for a listening paper as the CD player wasn't working🤦‍♀️ (H Spanish). Therefore there has been an investigation carried out. We have no way to tell how this will have impacted the final grade...until tomorrow. The school were in touch on the day of the exam in May about what is likely to happen but no one knows until the results are out how it has had an effect on these few students. DS and two others had Additional arrangements so were separate from the main listening exam.

Fingers crossed for everyone tomorrow 🤞

HGC2 · 04/08/2025 11:35

This is my last (7th) results day and DD needs BB at AH, feel quite nervous as so much hangs on this for her. I've always been pretty relaxed but not this time!

Good luck to them all for the morning!

Ineedcoffeenow · 04/08/2025 11:58

DD thinks she’s signed up for texts, but her friends said they had to do something to renew it from last year, but she says she hasn’t seen anything so we don’t know !

We have had the same panic this morning, so I checked the SQA website and you only have to activate your account once. I think there was an email that was a bit misleading. The website specifically says

" If you successfully created a MySQA account last year, then you will automatically receive your results by text and/or email again this year.

You don't need to renew your account, but if you have changed your phone number or email address since you originally signed up, check your details, and make sure we have your up to date details otherwise you won't receive your results."

The email I think was just ahead of the email to prompt anyone who hadn't used the code sent by email to activate their accounts, and only applies to students setting up their account for the first time.

Thank you!

I'm glad DD is very busy today. Hopefully it’s taking her mind off tomorrow. Meanwhile, I can’t focus on work! I wasn’t stressed in earlier years, but this one is for uni. It feels like an awful lot is resting on tomorrow.
