Gender Recognition Reform Bill - ForWomenScotland campaign

ForWomen Scotland have now released info/advice on how to respond to the GRR bill going through Scottish Parliament right now.

If this is something you'd like to get involved with, links below!

'Welcome to our campaign to Save Our Sex in Scottish law and life. After ignoring the concerns we all raised in previous public consultations, failing to address issues raised by women’s groups, and even disregarding the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s advice to give the matter more consideration, the Scottish Government is continuing on its merry way to amending the law to make a person’s sex a matter of personal choice rather than an objective reality.

We have a couple of action points which we hope as many people as possible complete. It’s really important we get our views across to the MSPs on the Committee scrutinising the reform Bill and to all our MSPs who will shortly be voting on it.'

Please do the questionnaire, it’s important that the Scottish government get our views and we can’t allow them to say our concerns “ are not valid “ again.

Y0uCann0tBeSer10us · 19/04/2022 09:34

Questionnaire submitted. It is beyond alarming that they are continuing to push this through!

I was told when I raised this with a Green candidate that this was a “niche issue” and why was I concerned? They also told me that public consultations showed that the public supported this legislation 🤨, and that I shouldn’t listen to what I was “being told”.

womaniswomaniswoman · 19/04/2022 13:01

A niche issue that affects fully half of the populations.

The Green Party really can fuck off can't they?

WillNotWheesht · 19/04/2022 13:14

Yes, they can. Apparently other people have other concerns apart from “making life miserable for trans people”

womaniswomaniswoman · 19/04/2022 13:16

I have lots of and lots of concerns. I'm capable of that, being a sentient human.

God I fucking hate what this country is becoming.

Yes, they're quite good at minimising, deflecting and dismissing women.

Unfortunately the Greens have turned into the party of complete weirdos up here & the English Greens seem to be just as bad with their lack of safeguarding and misogyny.
Between wee Harvie, Lazy Lorna & the fact that the TIM CEO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre is a member of the Greens it’s a complete cess pit in my opinion.

womaniswomaniswoman · 19/04/2022 15:00

It's so very very strange. I voted for them years ago, because they were focused on the environment. Now they're a single-issue party, content to lie about women, and the environment couldn't be less important to them.

They're unrecognisable.

DomesticatedZombie · 19/04/2022 16:43

We're working on the GP EW, but yes, in Scotland I hear they're a lost cause. This story really meant I can't countenance the Scottish Greens anymore:
