Gender Recognition Reform Bill - ForWomenScotland campaign

ForWomen Scotland have now released info/advice on how to respond to the GRR bill going through Scottish Parliament right now.

If this is something you'd like to get involved with, links below!

'Welcome to our campaign to Save Our Sex in Scottish law and life. After ignoring the concerns we all raised in previous public consultations, failing to address issues raised by women’s groups, and even disregarding the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s advice to give the matter more consideration, the Scottish Government is continuing on its merry way to amending the law to make a person’s sex a matter of personal choice rather than an objective reality.

We have a couple of action points which we hope as many people as possible complete. It’s really important we get our views across to the MSPs on the Committee scrutinising the reform Bill and to all our MSPs who will shortly be voting on it.'

I have just completed the short questionnaire. I do think it’s important for individuals to use the opportunity to have their say.

Waitwhat23 · 10/05/2022 08:56

Done.

DomesticatedZombie · 10/05/2022 09:13

The short questionnaire is really straightforward to fill in. 7 multiple choice, basically yes/no tickboxes, and one free text box where you can write what you please.

I wonder how the Government will spin the percentages to the multiple choice questions in the short survey...

Waitwhat23 · 23/05/2022 20:12

An excellent long survey submission - yourviews.parliament.scot/ehrcj/1e24dbb1/consultation/view_respondent?_b_index=600&uuId=266462780

GibbonsGoatsGibbons · 23/05/2022 22:47

That is a fantastic response!

from Ricky Gervais, mocking trans ideology. I'm sure it was done quite deliberately to promote his new show rather than out of a deep-seated need to defend women's rights (or maybe not, who knows), but personally I don't care. Anything that highlights the absurdity of a situation that places more importance on using the correct pronouns to protect the feelings of a minority than on women's safety has to be a good thing!
