Does anybody know if/when this is starting in Scotland? Have done a fair bit of searching but can’t find any info on it but know it’s open for booking in England.

If that was happening here, I’d think so! I have a friend in Edinburgh who is early 30s and has had hers, but it was because of asthma.

Other than that, I don’t know if anyone below 39 having had an appointment. And being densely populated doesn’t seem to help.
It does look like forth valley is doing pretty well!

I called the vaccination number after getting a ‘no appointment yet’ via the form. The woman told me the same and that she could see my details, so I was to call again in a couple of days. I read on Paul sweeneys Twitter post a similar comment. Someone who works for the helpline said that if your details are in the system, then your appointment should be updated soon 🤷‍♀️

We are in the 40 to 44 bracket in Edinburgh and our original appointments were Thursday next week. Most 40 somethings I know haven't been vaccinated yet in Edinburgh. So how they can be booking people in their early 30s for next week is a mystery to me.

emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 18:27

Same @Callisto1 I've not t heard of anyone under 40 in the lothians having an appointment yet (apart from those who got it through work or underlying health conditions). Most of the 40-44 group are only going from this week.

remember1 · 18/05/2021 18:31

I'm in Lothian and got mine today. I'm 40. Loads of people I know are this week with ages from 37-43.

SpiritInTheNight · 18/05/2021 18:31

I’m almost 35 (in June) and in Lothians and my appointment is on Monday. Like others I used the missing appointment form and got the information that way. Haven’t had a letter yet.

emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 18:40

Wow are you younger folk Edinburgh or “the lothians”?

SpiritInTheNight · 18/05/2021 18:42

I’m in West Lothian, being vaccinated at RHS

ssd · 18/05/2021 19:43

I wonder if the need to get over 18s in certain Glasgow postcodes vaccinated asap holding up other areas?

Callisto1 · 18/05/2021 19:53

I don't think so @ssd. Our appointment has been in the system for over 2 weeks now. Some health boards are just slow. I'd say perhaps Edinburgh is extra slow Grin

MusicCrayon · 18/05/2021 20:06

I'm in Edinburgh and 37, I used the link in this thread and was told my appointment is on the 24th! I wasn't expecting to get such an early date.

GrandPrismatic · 18/05/2021 20:11

Lothian, 44, nada!

Bluesycamore · 18/05/2021 20:22

Oh just this evening NHS Borders have announced they’re moving onto 30-39 and letters going out this week. Although appointment can’t be scheduled yet as I tried via the missing appointment link and it came back with nothing.

NHS Grampian has caught up a lot and been quick at the smaller vaccination centres. Think the one in Aberdeen is a bit slower.

30-39 year old letters were received for this week/going into next week.

emmathedilemma · 18/05/2021 21:56

There’s clearly not much logic to this then @MusicCrayon because mine is the 24th and I’m a number form of years older than you and I know friends and colleagues well in their 40’s who have later appointments or only just being done. I wonder if it depends on your GP practice or locality? There did seem to be a postcode theme going on a while ago where half the street was at consecutive appointments.

SpiritInTheNight · 19/05/2021 12:03

I got my blue envelope this morning!

Ecthelion · 19/05/2021 16:03

@emmathedilemma I'm not sure there's much logic to it at all! My partner, who's a year younger than me and lives at the same address, same GP practice, etc, has her appointment scheduled for the start of June. Mine isn't in the system yet.

MusicCrayon · 19/05/2021 16:41

I do wonder if it's done by postcode too, when my friend attended her appointment yesterday, she knew lots of people from the surrounding streets! Very odd.

emmathedilemma · 19/05/2021 17:03

My letter has finally arrived today for appointment on Monday. Glad I had it in the diary already and have been able to plan my week around potentially feeling awful afterwards!

seeingdots · 20/05/2021 10:42

I'm NHS Tayside and got my letter today.

TheCanyon · 21/05/2021 20:00

Any word yet @Bluesycamore. Our 41yo neighbour got his first one today (very west borders area so smallish population) , though strangely other mid 40s friends still heard nothing.

Bluesycamore · 21/05/2021 20:17

@TheCanyon nothing yet, I’m starting to wonder if it’s postcode based as well as seems a lot of people in the area were all called for the same day although that doesn’t tie up with what you’re seeing

OP posts:
TheCanyon · 21/05/2021 20:23

What area roughly are you? We're peebleshire. Seems to be a lot of messing about according to the folk on the bgh fb page. They had done so well, it seems to have completely stalled. It's been nearly 4 weeks since I got my vulnerable household contact letter and phoned to make an appointment, still no letter through with dates though, glad I saw that missing letter page on here.

Babdoc · 21/05/2021 20:28

My DDs who are 30 and 31 and live in Edinburgh both have appointments for their first dose - one next week and one June 2nd.

TheCanyon · 22/05/2021 21:06

A wee update here, I finally got my letter along with the previous resident of the house (31), dhs workmate got his too (33). So seems we're onto the 30+ group but still my best friend (41) not had one?

Ecthelion · 22/05/2021 21:10

@TheCanyon - at this stage your friend should call the helpline. I called as I was missing an appointment and they generated one for me over the phone.
