Just that really. Just checking in to see how things are! Not sure if there is an existing thread. Apologies if so!

The mother does not work and has never worked. I'm not saying that to be nasty, just stating fact. So its not like she has to take time off work to self isolate etc. I would be annoyed myself but I would do it.

Lidlfix · 19/10/2020 18:33

Seems daft. Teachers are not going to be delivering lessons to a solitary pupil that they will then have to teach to the rest of the class when the isolation is up.

Poor wee spud is probably sitting with a Chromebook accessing the work set on Teams or Google Classroom in a lonely classroom whilst her mates are rocking their onesies at home.

Slightlybrwnbanana · 19/10/2020 18:48

Let's hope so Lidfix, and that they are not quietly infecting the other S2 classes who they presumably hang around with at break and lunch.
The mother is probably crowing about standing up to the school on UFFT.

Scotslassie1 · 19/10/2020 18:53

UFFT Grin 👏

throwingawaymyshot · 20/10/2020 21:05

That's a second pupil in S6 now with Covid and that's the only 2 I know of so far.

Can teachers on here let me know if the school is supposed to close completely if they have 2 cases or is it just the class who are to self isolate? I am confused. Trying to guess whether DD will still be going to school or not although she's not been in direct contact with any of them.

Scotslassie1 · 20/10/2020 21:07

A school won't shut with two cases. There's been schools with a LOT more who've stayed open.

Scotslassie1 · 20/10/2020 21:09

Test and protect will decide who needs to isolate, according to the index case(s).

LoopyGremlin · 20/10/2020 21:23

@throwingawaymyshotThere’s been two cases in my school, in different years. It’s not even been the whole class who isolate but only those who sit within 2 metres of them in each class. If she’s not been a close contact then there’s no reason for her not to go to school.

Anyone else had a text saying they've been selected for the antibody test? I received one this morning and my test should arrive in 5 days . Intriguing!

Mistressiggi · 23/10/2020 11:21

Yes I've done mine, and I know other teachers who got one too. Got another text saying I'd been selected again - I'm guessing that's a mistake! Waiting for the result now. Worth doing I think.

Lidlfix · 23/10/2020 11:36

I got a second text and code too Mistress as did some of my colleagues. Cloning English teachers? Shock

Groovee · 23/10/2020 14:13

1 friend has had her antibody results. Another 2 have been selected.

Scotslassie1 · 23/10/2020 17:01

Mine arrived this morning! Not sure if it's a one off or if we're expected to do more going forward.

nextslideplease · 24/10/2020 09:10

I've ordered an antibody test online as I work in an education role (not a teacher) and I think I had covid over the summer (test came back unclear). The website said I would be contacted in a few weeks. Is that true? I'd like to know asap if I've had it as I think I have lingering symptoms (long covid?)

Mistressiggi · 24/10/2020 12:06

I got mine within two weeks.

Lidlfix · 24/10/2020 12:23

Is the antibodies test like the swab that it needs to be posted an hour before last pick up?

Mine just arrived and I see my colleagues weren't winding me up about star jumps Shock.

Mistressiggi · 24/10/2020 13:03

Oh I don't know. Mine said to only use a priority postbox if possible and mentioned not posting on certain days. (I think it was sat and Sunday, but I might be wrong)

prettybird · 24/10/2020 14:24

Priority postboxes get picked up late afternoon whereas all the rest have a "last" and only pick up time of 9am in the morning Shock iirc, even earlier on a Saturday Shock

Lidlfix · 27/10/2020 21:26

Well I now appreciate what trying to get blood out a stone is like. I didn't part with that easily, yet nick my ankle shaving and it looks like the set of Psycho. Oh and hand sanitizer was a joy . Not sure I produced enough so might have to repeat it anyway.

How are we all doing?

Mistressiggi · 27/10/2020 22:07

Hi Lid Smile Yes it was tough! Mine's come back already, negative.
I'm hanging on by a thread here, to be perfectly honest. Can't believe schools are fully open in all proposed tiers.

Groovee · 28/10/2020 10:00

One whole class isolating in our school. Due back later this week. A couple of siblings in ours were off. Not sure if ill or if parents were just keeping them at home.

It still feels so close to home.

Lidlfix · 29/10/2020 16:59

No antibodies here . Actually disappointed. Thermals on and every classroom has a digital thermometer to use our own judgement which fucks me right off.

No it's not my judgement-the guidelines were made on a basis of full ventilation. Of course recovery docs were published in July when it was all rainbows and unicorns. Sad,

DollyMixtureLulus · 29/10/2020 18:31

Mine was negative too. I don't know anyone testing positive for antibodies. Even on the SPT group very, very few have them. I'm wondering if this will have an effect on things going forward.

My hands are red raw and I now have an indoor coat. So tired.

Mistressiggi · 29/10/2020 18:36

I almost forgot I could put the heating on when I got in tonight and be warm Grin
Cake and Wine to all who need it just now.
