I'm on the waitlist for mine Smile

I've not been since before Christmas, I only go a few times a year to be fair and I don't colour so really all I need is about 4 inches trimmed off the bottom.

I cut DHs hair and my boys and their beards but I don't trust any of them to return the favour and I'm not doing it myself!

titsbumfannythelot · 08/06/2020 20:04

Being the cynical git that I am, I fully expect them to deliver the worst case scenario then make massive progress in time for folk to remember this next May at election time.

I want to go to the hairdresser too, and get my bloody eyebrows waxed. And go to six by nico for dinner.

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/06/2020 20:05

I've said i'm happy to have a quick wet cut - i'll turn up with it wet and I can be out the door in 10 minutes. Low maintenance me Grin

Tomorrowisanewday · 08/06/2020 20:10

Oh no, I'll be getting the full works. I usually get it cut and coloured every 8 weeks, so it's long overdue Grin

Tomorrowisanewday · 08/06/2020 20:13

I'm booked in for the 15th july. It was booked originally for the Tuesday after lockdown started and has been moved every time the lockdown has been extended

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/06/2020 20:16

I have to say I've never been so glad that let mine grow out into grey years ago. It's also straight and one length so it's easy enough just to tie up. I just don't like it too long as it starts looking witchy. Becasue I'm working at home, I've also not blow dried it in months, it great just to leave it to dry all by itself. I know there has been endless speculation about Nicola's, I'm on the fence, as much as I don't like her, I'm not sure she would risk being caught, on the other hand, a short cut is a bugger to maintain and that won't be her natural colour and her hair does look as if it wouldn't be the easiest to style. Sooo not sure i'm entirely buying that she's doing it herself either. It's not like she has endless hours to sit and watch Youtube videos and practice Grin

Tomorrowisanewday · 08/06/2020 20:30

I debated growing the gray out at about the end of April, since I'm unlikely to have such an opportunity again. But I'm so pale, I'd look even more washed out than I do normally

Tomorrowisanewday · 08/06/2020 20:35

I can't decide about Nicola's - like you, I don't think she would risk breaking lockdown, but I do think her hair would be quite challenging

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/06/2020 20:36

When you go back get a set of highlights to even up the difference between bottom and roots and you can then do it a bit more gradually or just stick with getting highlights - less noticable regrowth and probably kinder to your hair. then at some point you might just go for it.

Mine seems to have stuck at a sort of blondy grey, though i was brunette as an adult (blond as a child though, then a mousy teen and then very dark).

Tomorrowisanewday · 08/06/2020 20:42

I've been very dark since I was a baby, which is why it would be such a shock. But my hairdresser said the same as you about highlights.

And it is in really nice condition just now.

rookiemere · 08/06/2020 20:48

titsbum being organised for once, I managed to get super sought after dinner bookings at six by nico with friends in April for my 50th and for our 15th wedding anniversary on 28th May.
Have rebooked for July and November, will be hugely aggravated if neither take place.
Oh and 31st Jan for last hair appointment. Had to skip the last pre lockdown one because of covidlike symptoms and self isolation. I'm having quite a lot of fun experimenting with semi permanent colours to hide the roots, but unfortunately it's super thick so now taking me forever to dry.

fascinated · 08/06/2020 20:51

Attacked mine with thinning scissors, went a bit mad.

I think it looks not bad, and am glad to be rid of the weight... but the Hairdresser is not going to thank me...

rookiemere · 08/06/2020 20:53

fascinated we've only got dog clippers and after seeing what DH and DS have done with them, I think I'll wait. Might try ringing the salon so I can get booked in for July.

fascinated · 08/06/2020 21:03

Yeah, I’m not fussy about my hair but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who is!!

fascinated · 08/06/2020 21:04

Probably worth booking as there will be a long queue I imagine!

titsbumfannythelot · 08/06/2020 21:34

@rookiemere 🤞 for your reservations

AnneKipanki · 08/06/2020 21:58

Nicola has been grey for a long time . She does look remarkably coiffed .
Perhaps her OH is skilled in the arts of cutting and dyeing.

I did my OH hair and he was very happy with it ( clippers ) . I have said I can get him to dye mine .
He is up for that .

fascinated · 08/06/2020 22:49

I wonder how old she is. Idle musings. Too lazy to google it.

titsbumfannythelot · 08/06/2020 22:50

She's 50 soon

WaxOnFeckOff · 08/06/2020 22:53

I'm sure she said it was her 50th and her 10th wedding anniversary soon and they had had some plans but they've had to be put off due to CV.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 09/06/2020 08:48

Does anyone know if moving into phase 2 is likely to keep the 5 mile guidance for travel? If it does I’m really really going to struggle.
Where we were exercising as a family is now much busier due to the reopening of the golf course, groups of teenagers wandering past with dragon soup! It’s unpleasant. I’m desperate to get out of the urban area and into the hills, sensibly choosing somewhere likely to be quiet. Taking a picnic and not to long a drive.
I literally cannot take being contained for another 4.5 weeks if phase 2 also involves 5 miles. This morning the kids want to go somewhere, I’ve had a look with my satnav and I’m not exaggerating when I say we really can’t get anywhere much within 5 miles. We are a family that relies on the outdoors for our health and well-being, but despite being low risk for COVID complications we are told OUR well-being does not matter.
Sorry bit of a rant, but really really scunnered by this extremely slow dictator like lockdown release.

SockYarn · 09/06/2020 08:54

Just go. Seriously. The 5 mile limit is something she's pulled out of her backside.

Mascotte · 09/06/2020 08:55

It's just guidance. Unenforceable. I'd just go where you like, if it's reasonable. As in, I'd happily drive for an outing for a morning or an afternoon, as o normally would.
