2019 Scottish Exam Support Thread

Just getting started on this year's thread.

Only got Ds sitting 5 exams this year in S5. 🤞🏻 but Dd will be home most of the time as she's on placement.

DS thought Philosophy went really well which is a relief to both of us! I’ve never seen him so stressed about an exam. Last one this morning- Computing Science but he’s not too worried about it. He’s back to school next Thursday and Friday then off on DoE the following week.

I might have a job getting dd up for the computing exam as she is a lazy mare and prefers sleeping until lunch time!

And we’re all done! Hurrah!

Dd said the computing was mostly ok. Still has Art on Friday and then we're done

dementedpixie same here, ds just has art tomorrow and is done. He's fairly confident, his portfolio was very good. He wants a B at least as his big sister, who is now at the GSA, got a C!

Dd2 has art tomorrow too. Then Geography on Tuesday. We're ok about that

Well that's the 2 of them away to Art, both Higher and Nat5 today. Only exam they both have on the same day!

It's ds last exam so he's off out with his mates afterwards, there was a definite clink of a bottle from his school bag .

They're both pretty relaxed about the exam so it should be ok. Just Geography on Tuesday left!

And they found out this morning they're not back on Wednesday as I'd thought, but not until 3rd June! It's like an extra holiday!

Ours also not back until 3rd June. Dropped dd off for art. Had to wake her earlier to get showered before she went as she 'forgot' to do it last night

Hello all, Art was DD's last Nat 5 today. Celebrating with pizza tonight and a spa day tomorrow! Hope everyone else is bearing up ok.

Both dd2 (nat5) and ds (Higher) thought Art was "pretty good" (they both used the same words in their after-exam-text that mum requires of them). Ds off out with mates as now finished. Dd2 home (via Primark!!) has ordered Italian for tea. That's 11/12 exams (plus H music practical) out of the way!

Ds has an S6 induction next Friday am. Then new timetable starts 3rd of June and the college course he applied for has assessments on Tues/Thurs that week. So he would spend 2 afternoons at college which is 5 minutes away from school. Good taster for him wanting to go there in 2020.

We thought DS had next week off. We were so sure of it that we booked a week away for us, leaving DS at home with the dog. Turns out he has to be in on Thursday and Friday.

He’s going to have to get himself up at 6 both days, walk the dog and then either get himself to the train station, walk to the school bus or beg his grandparents to swing by and pick him up as they take DD to the school bus.

He’s not known for his early rises. It’s going to be interesting.

Last exam was today - RMPS Advanced Higher. A big relief it's all over; he said it went well. DS is feeling anticlimactic and probably a bit exhausted.

Glad to hear everyone else has survived. Roll on results day......

Some of DSs friends had their last exam today so he's gone off for some lunch with them.

Hope everyone gets what they need on the 6th. 10 weeks tomorrow I think.

That's the last for DD3 today, DD4 finished last week . Dining table not fully reclaimed as in is now my SQA marking station. Been a tough few weeks as DD3 is a worrier and DD4 found it all a bit overwhelming. Less than 5 weeks to holidays . Time for me to make lots of resolutions , state my good intentions and new ways and the best bit -plan for sparkly new classes.

Last exam was Higher Geography today. All in all Dd2 is happy with how she has done. Dd1 is also home from Uni so they have a few days together probably playing xbox. Then back to school on Monday.
