Anyone else shitting themselves about exam results tomorrow?

Keeping a cool 'what will be will be' exterior but secretly crapping it for DS' Nat 5 results. He did a reasonable amount of work considering, and is quite chilled about it, but am worried he won't do as well as he thinks and will be upset. By which I mean if course, it will be me who is upset. Would just be nice to get decent enough results to move onto the next year without having to rejig course choices etc.

DD is like a cat on a hot tin roof. She just wants to pass Maths.

My DC have got results on every single results day since 2006... I can't tell you how glad I am that there won't be any more!

LoveVintage · 03/08/2015 23:02

This is our first! DS a bit worried about the maths, not as bad as the stories about the Higher maths paper, but think one of the Nat 5 papers was not as expected.

Oh I've just started a thread in chat. I'm a nervous wreck. She should have done well but if not she will be so hard on herself Sad

StaceyAndTracey · 03/08/2015 23:06

I'm so nervous I can't sleep . They are coming to my phone as Dd has broken hers .

LoveVintage · 03/08/2015 23:29

DS is getting his by post. Think it will be the earliest he has been up all holiday!

Posts Wednesday isn't it? Text results should be out by 9am apparently.

LoveVintage · 03/08/2015 23:48

Post is tomorrow as well but think texts can be quite early on. Can't sleep!

Results email arrived here at 1:15 , so check your inboxes . I'm not allowed to tell you as Dd doesn't know herself, she didnt want to be woken

She'll be pleased but not overjoyed . That's all I can tell you, my lips are sealed

Good luck everyone's Dds/Dss

Happy36 · 04/08/2015 03:16

Good luck! Thinking of you all and your sons and daughters and their teachers. Hope the results are what they need for the next step, and reflect their efforts.

I just posted this earlier today for my own students (waiting for A Level results in 10 days´ time): "UCAS ExamResults Helpline is also on Facebook: www.facebook.com/examresultshelpline".

Well done to StaceyandTracey ´s daughter. Enjoy the celebrations.

RJnomore · 04/08/2015 07:42

Ours are here too, she's just texted me the email. 6 As and a B I couldn't be more pleased.

Hockneypool · 04/08/2015 07:48

Waiting on the higher results. Do I wake her up?

StaceyAndTracey · 04/08/2015 08:01

No don't wake her . The texts are supposed to arrive between 8 and 9am , so hers might not be here yet

It's the emails that came in the middle for the night ( for some people )

tilliebob · 04/08/2015 08:21

Oh fuck. DS1 is up and in the shower already but the postie won't be here until after 12 at the earliest.

I just want him to be pleased with his results - although I'm expecting the worst. The stress really got to him Sad.

This is far worse than waiting for my own results!

Hockneypool · 04/08/2015 08:24

Woke her with strong coffee, because she has to be out at 9.

Good news. AAAB and C in the horrible Maths. Well chuffed and delighted for her. I was worried she hadn't quite done enough but she had.

StaceyAndTracey · 04/08/2015 08:24

Chin up Tilly

I am a wreck too, ds at the higher maths, not sure what to expect, just hope hes ok with whatever results he gets, he keeps everything close to his chest and I dont want him worrying alone but he doesnt share much

StaceyAndTracey · 04/08/2015 08:25

Wel done Hockney DD!

Is she saying on at school or going off to college / uni ?

tilliebob · 04/08/2015 08:28

Well done folks with clever kids who signed up for email and text results Grin. No idea why DS didn't but none of his group did!

Hockneypool · 04/08/2015 08:32

Thank you Stacey.

Staying at school for another year. Doing 2 advanced Highers and one higher. I'm glad it's less each year!

What is your DC going to do?

Hockneypool · 04/08/2015 08:37

Too late for this year Tillie but can definitely recommend it. It's all over very early in the day. My DD said that most of her friends didn't sign up for text and email though.

LoveVintage · 04/08/2015 08:39

Ours are in for Nat 5s - one A one B the rest Cs but failed Nat 5 maths. Check. He is good at maths too. Will be interesting to see what others get.

Told him well done but actually really quite disappointed. He's gone back to bed, seems happy enough and not surprised failed maths.

OP posts:
tilliebob · 04/08/2015 09:07

DS isn't even sitting N5 maths this year but he was on course for an A in English. As long as he gets his English and History, those Highers are safe to continue working for along with a crash Higher he's picked up.

I think he and his friends are all wishing they weren't waiting for the posture now ConfusedConfused

Hockneypool · 04/08/2015 09:53

Love vintage - he has done well. He completed the course, turned up for the exams and answered the questions. All good positive things. And they are so young. Its a good base to build upon.

StaceyAndTracey · 04/08/2015 10:06

Tilly - National 5 maths was supposed to be hard this year , he won't be the only one who is disappointed Sad

hockney - DD has just sat national 5s, so she s going back for 5th year . She's happy with her subject choices now she's seen her N5 grades

She s not organised at all - she only signed up for the text / email because I made her < bossy mother > . Shes away with her friends right now and I knew she would end up phoning me hysterically to open her results and tell her .

But of course she's broken her phone so I had to get the email / texts on my phone and then text them to her pal first thing this morning . Sigh

Her two friends she's away with are not spilling the beans on their own results so I'm assuming they are not what they hoped for
