I have a sil who is identical in age to me, went to same university at same time and has similar interests to me. However she is completely uninterested in me often to the point of being rude. Her children are now beginning to copy her and extend that same "friendliness".. not.. to my kids. Can take it for myself but cannot bear to see my kids treated badly. Only problem is her husband who is very nice is dh's only family member. Any tips?

I actually do get on with my SIL. However, she has done things which leave me speechless...

The first time she ever visited my house (BIL and she live a long way oop north) after we had rebuilt it etc - was on the morning of my wedding, JUST as I had sent all my bridal party off to the hairdressers and I was having some alone time and was getting into the bath. Not the best of timing. "Erm, you will excuse me if I don't show you around - I am getting married in a few hours and kind of have to get on..."

But this was after she had blown me off the night before, for a pre-wedding girls get together after having such a long drive she was "too tired", but then proceeded to join my DH (to be) his brothers, my father, grandfather and various friends at the hotel they were staying at for the pre-wedding BOYS get together and managed to stay up until 2am (the only girl present).

And after my wedding I received an email which read:

"every day I eagerly check the post to see if there's anything from you. It's been nearly three weeks since you got married. Are you not sending thank-you cards?"
