I was quite surprised how much older than me (and the Ex is younger than me ) the OW was, and frumpy she dressed. . . it was quite a relief.. . .
Anyone relate to this experience and feel a small chuckle inside ??

Yes...until I realise they're with them not me

sorry to piss on your bonfire!

MortaIWombat · 12/06/2010 21:27

You are not being unreasonable - though maybe a little uncharitable.

Did she look like a charity case?

maltesers · 12/06/2010 21:42

Ye she did. . .and certainly The Downtrodden female.
Evenso, SECUNDA. . . .dear me she looked a mess. . .as long as she doesnt resenble Cameran Diaz or Julia Roberts i can chuckle........ !!

So what does it say that your husband was prepared to cheat on you with a dowdy woman?

OhExpletive · 12/06/2010 22:41

How mean skidoodly.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 12/06/2010 22:43

meow! tut tut.

Ingles2 · 12/06/2010 22:45

ouch....

VTrying · 12/06/2010 23:00

Skid, thats not helpful.

Is it better or worse to be left for a dowdy woman than to have someone leave you because they "want to be on their own"?

I can only blame myself. No OW to blame.

MarineIguana · 12/06/2010 23:04

When there is an OW, picking holes in her appearance and slagging her off is one of the greatest joys there is IME. And a good friend is the friend who will do it with you till the cows come home. Be as uncharitable as you like, if it makes you feel better - I would.

secunda · 12/06/2010 23:06

Yes but it's a consolation prize at best

maltesers · 12/06/2010 23:07

My Ex dp didnt cheat on me. He met her two years after we split up !! Its not about Meow or tut tut . . .its a fact. She turned up looking a mess. End of. Just surprised , , ,thought he might have picked someone his age, younger or smart. He has got himself a mother figure. !!!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 12/06/2010 23:09

Then she's not the 'OW', is she? Other Woman is for someone who your partner was cheating on you with.

She is just the new person he is with.

MortaIWombat · 12/06/2010 23:09

A boyfriend once left me to become a priest.

That was humiliating.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 12/06/2010 23:10

oh, and meow tut tut was at ski's comment. not your op.

maltesers · 12/06/2010 23:11

oh ok. . .I didnt know the 'OW' meant that. . .thought it just meant the woman he is with now, , , after you IYSWIM

Ingles2 · 12/06/2010 23:12

his new partner is older and frumpier than you....iyo but not his.....and?

Ingles2 · 12/06/2010 23:13

sorry x posts...

akhems · 12/06/2010 23:14

The OW in our case was a 10 years younger, slimmer version of me.

blueshoes · 12/06/2010 23:15

You were too good for him, maltesers.

He lucked out when he had you.

maltesers · 12/06/2010 23:21

Well . . very kind of you blue. . .but what does "lucked out " mean ??

OP posts:
IsGraceAvailable · 12/06/2010 23:28

lucked out = got lucky
v.confusing, as it used to mean 'got UNlucky' in GB English, then we got all American about it. Same with 'it's a bomb'. Bombs were GREAT in Brit English, then the Yanks turned it into a bad thing. Or the other way round - I'm too old/drunk/multilingual to know/care/give a shit.

maltesers, isn't your ex a bit of a control freak (diplomacy! There's a first!)
Maybe she got frumpy as a result of suffering his lurve.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 12/06/2010 23:29

oh, that's bomb as it "it bombed" (did badly) and "da bomb" as in something wonderful. Is it?

IsGraceAvailable · 12/06/2010 23:31

Hecate - yes, and I'm too old/drunk/multilingual to know/care/give a shit
