Do men really prefer it if we shave down there?

And if so is it the fault of porn?

I am quite comfortable with my au natural look but as soon as I get a partner I feel like it all has to come off. Hence cringy shaving/hair removal cream sessions, regrowth and in my case unsightly sores. Sorry if tmi. I am too chicken to wax.

It's such a shame that men don't love that part of us the way it is or do they.

I do tend to feel better after a trim but not a full wax.

I kind of want to look like a women and not prepubescant.

what's your view?

Oh for goodness sake having no pubic hair has nothing to do with prepubescant its a personal choice of adults it’s like tattoos or piercings or colour of ones hair. In the course of my work I see loads of patients who come into hospital Male and female who have no pubic hair or very little so what. Of course there will always be those who like to criticise others because they are not exactly the same as them. Sad or what?

I have always preferred mine completely shaven, I do leave it grow back slightly over a few days then come the weekend I will shave it again, like legs. DH prefers it shaved, its easier for oral sex etc. I wouldn't grow it even if he asked me to, I feel cleaner with it bald! DH would also use hair removal cream not for himself but for me, to tidy up down there as I find it a bit off putting when I get a mouth full of hair lol

have tried shaved, bald, trimmed, etc. and I'm just sticking with full 70s bush and trimming the edges when I wear a bather. and post menopause and definitely not bald or any thinner grayer down there.

Never had any complaints. I've never been with a man who manscaped and I would find it unsettling to see it all bald down there.

Try the ‘im Game’ if you go for a back, crack and sac wax.’ I’ve yet to see a bloke not moan about it being painful and bloody itchy for weeks

mogratpineapple · 15/05/2018 15:07

I think younger men expect it, as do younger women. It's a fashion thing.
My bloke says that he likes to see some (although not a huge bush) because it's a sign of a grown up.

mogratpineapple · 15/05/2018 15:09

As a couple, we keep things tidy, but not totally bald. He did it once and I found it too weird, like a boy but not, IYSWIM

Feel a bit sick tbh at the thought of men equating a shaved adult vulva with a child's genitals.

Not even remotely comparable.

Loving the idea of 70s pubefashion returning. I like au naturale men and i wouldnt sleep with anyone who turned their nose up at perfectly natural hair (its never happened, and i knew bf was a keeper when we DTD for the first time and i remembered i hadnt shaved my legs but he just grunted 'dont care' when i commented - correct answer!) . I trim mine with a beard trimmer and shave the bikini line but rarely all off.

I find it really quite unpleasant to have oral sex with an unshaved / waxed female especially on the underneath bit
(as a lesbian). so depends if that's what you're hoping for with your sex life i guess. having a mouthful of pubes is never going to be a pleasent experience, even if super clean.

yetmorecrap · 15/05/2018 19:25

Good job many heterosexual women don’t feel the same about blokes bits , or we would be stuffed!!

Beaverhurdle · 15/05/2018 20:18

Lol, indeed!!

Geordiegirl1988 · 15/05/2018 21:35

I don't have any hair at all down below and it's because I prefer it this way . Hubby loves it too but he still loved it when it was a hairy muff haha

Againfaster · 15/05/2018 22:35

men dont have hairy willies though.. its out of the way of the main bit you would err.. have deal with.

Beaverhurdle · 16/05/2018 05:42

sounds a bit unimaginative to me, Againfaster ;)
