My dh sent me a text message by accident. I replied and flirted for the evening, and then we talked on the phone for 3 months - never swapped photos or anything.

We met after 3 months and it was love at first sight for both of us. I moved 200 miles to be with him, and we've now been married for 5 years and have a son together as well as my dd. I was 33 and he was 30.

lowenergylightbulb · 09/05/2009 08:48

I met him in a pub (aged 18), he was hanging off a beam for a dare, (it was one of those mock tudor interiors) as I walked in he fell off.

I asked him if he was ok, he bought me a drink and then we went outside and spent the evening snogging.

That was 20 years ago

We met at work - we were both IT contractors at a City investment bank and we were both 33 at the time.

Snufflebufty · 09/05/2009 11:04

At work, I was 31 and just out of a messy divorce and he was 23 He had a spare ticket to see a Stone Roses tribute band, so I went with him and his mates. Been together 6.5 years and now have 1 dd

zisforzebra · 09/05/2009 22:10

In a pub. I was 20, he was 18 and it was a few days after he got his A level results. We became friends for a couple of weeks, just hanging out and having lunch etc when one day his best mate asked "what do you think about D because he really likes you!" It suddenly clicked with me then that actually I really fancied him and that's why I liked spending time with him so much!

We got together the next day, he proposed 2 months later and we've been together for 13 years and married for nearly 10.

janeite · 09/05/2009 22:13

I love 'Are you a Manics fan? Have you got a spare fag?" - classic chat up line that, methinks!

Dp and I met at a writing class. I was 23 and married. He was 25 and not. It was a v hard few months and even now, years and years later, I still feel bad about it but it was the right thing to do.

Parmageddon · 09/05/2009 22:17

Dh and I met at university when I was 19 and he was 18. His first gesture of romance was to throw up outside my door! We have been together (on and off) for 20 odd years now (wow that's scary!)

My aunt met her second husband in her late 50's (she has five children) and they are the sweetest couple , and a friend of mine at work fell in love in her 60's with another lovely bloke. It is never too late!

Kally · 10/05/2009 08:49

We met in the back seat of a BMW. We were set up by mutual friends, and our first meeting was when we were both collected to go out to dinner with them.
