oh and dh knows all about it. and is fine with it, not threatened at all. But I have friends who have lied to their dhs.

Surely 'lover' is not necessarily the same as 'sexual partner'.

austinsmam hubbs and i got married when i was almost 20, but we had an open relationship for five years before we decided to try for a family.

Agree ABetaDad, that's how dh and I feel. But some people (esp blokes) have a very old-fashioned view and I think they feel that too many partners will reflect badly on them - either they will be compared and won't match up.. or maybe they don't like the idea of their partner not being choosy enough?

Having said that though... to remember and keep a tally of 237 would indicate something unhealthily compulsive. I think I would certainly have a problem with 237. It smacks of a complete lack of respect for oneself or for others.

oo about 15 or so never really kept a count I had a good fun time was young free and sometimes single!

had a few serious relationships and then a period of fun again and then 1 serious and then met DH for serious fun!

never had big discussions we know we've had pasts we know we've loved before we laugh about things we did to attract previous partners ...

itchyandscratchy - i guess it all depends on how you view sex, really. Yes, i've had sex with many people, but i've made love with relitively few of them. There's a huge difference.

DH has only had a few. He sort of knows about mine as he found a Cosmo quiz that I had done one drunken night with a female friend. We both answered honestly and he was surprised at both answers but didn't know whose answers were whose.

Lots. Over 100 I think (but I have been doing it for over 20 years). I don't keep an exact count, because it doesn;t matter that much - and also, do you count it as 'sex' when it was only a 69, and if it was group sex does that count as 1 or 4?
I am single, but when I have had partners, have never either hidden it or made a big deal about it (because I generally sleep with people who have had a few partners themselves and are equally unfussed about the numbers game).
