You kept the whole Mumsnet community on the edge of our seats back in November with the story of your toxic MIL forcing your DH to keep a family christening secret from you.

When the thread finished your DH had confronted his mum, you'd gone to the christening anyway, and MIL had ignored your dd. Then your dad had to have a heart op, MIL was, you suspected, pretending to be ill, and you'd just found out you were pregnant with DC2 (congratulations!).

Well you know how nosy us mumsnetters are!!! Please bring us up to date - what happened next?

...hoping this story has a happy ending.....

lol sorry I should have elaborated but didn't know how to put it. It's just my experience of such young girls there to be really, really awful in a super-competative, bitchy way and bullying was just rife. Just my pov but I know from hands-on experience iyswim; may be different now..

PerArduaAdNauseum · 04/02/2009 21:39

. Haven't a pattern yet, have some doll patterns to adapt, and will start with a nice boxy crib

cluelessnchaos · 04/02/2009 21:41

ilove · 04/02/2009 21:42

MmeLindt · 04/02/2009 21:42

Did someone mention Tunnocks Teacakes?

[homesick]

spoiltforchoice · 04/02/2009 21:43

Many thanks.
Am relieved to hear
a) you went there
b) it sucked
as want to choose AJS, but don't want to deny dd 'best' academic experience.

So where are you, THUM???

stardazzle · 04/02/2009 21:52

stardazzle sneaks in the back and scoffs a choccy biccy but fails to be discrete by sitting on the CD player remote accidently switching the disc to thrash metal!

Stayingsunnygirl · 04/02/2009 22:01

We are currently awaiting updates on:

  1. THUM and the Evil MIL.
  1. The progress of AnyFucker's new crocheted knickers.
  1. The availability of Tunnock's Teacakes.

Jut been pointed in direction of this thread. I don't know about the Christening thread - though have vague recollection.

I'm not the same person. I had a termination (half of it) early December and then changed mind. Spent most of xmas thinking that pregnancy would soon be over but am now happily 18 weeks (tomorrow) and due my anomaly scan mid Feb. So far all scans (have had several what with original daftness and then falling over in snow) have been very promising. Oh, and baby is a boy

AnyFuckerForAShiteSoppyCard · 04/02/2009 22:04

these crocheted knickers are all very well but...

they are a bit drafty

PerArduaAdNauseum · 04/02/2009 22:06

It's called lace dear

scrappydappydoo · 04/02/2009 22:07

Hobgoblin that's fantastic news - I've been lurking on this thread and I've just read your post and started to cry .
Congratulations!!

Reluctantly hands round jaffa cakes I've been withholding by lurking...

AnyFuckerForAShiteSoppyCard · 04/02/2009 22:07

but its got holes in it

CarGirl · 04/02/2009 22:09

What's happened to Tunnocks Teacakes, I look forward to visits to Lancaster because booths sell the dark chocolate version

MmeLindt · 04/02/2009 22:09

Hobbgoblin
Congratulations, glad to hear that you and the baby are doing well.

hobbgoblin · 04/02/2009 22:10

Aww, thanks scrapppy. I will properly relax after the anomaly which is the day before my Birthday. Had my triple test a week ago and not heard back by phone which should mean all okay unless the snow has meant hold ups !

I am going to go and buy some white baby nighties to celebrate if all is okay. I am desperate to go to Gap and get some

PerArduaAdNauseum · 04/02/2009 22:16

@ Hobbgoblin - I won't crochet you holdups, but if all goes well (and it must do after all that - I remember your change of mind thread) I can do you a couple of newborn hats

AnyFuckerForAShiteSoppyCard · 04/02/2009 22:17

I remember your thread hobb, I soooo hope things work out for you

stayfrosty, I nearly misread your thread to say you were going to sniff my gusset !!!

Jenbot · 04/02/2009 22:19

Totally off topic, but...

I desperately wanted to get dark chocolate teacakes for DH for Xmas - that was all he wanted - I did an expensive £50 shop on Waitrose online (they seemed to be the only place I could get them here) which was the minimum £ for an order, they delivered it all, but were out of teacakes.
Gah!

JackBauer · 04/02/2009 22:20

That's fab news hobgoblin, so pleased for you!

I haven't knitted for awhile but I did make a phone case earlier that isn't sewn up yet, could you use it as an extra gusset?
It's multicoloured!

AnyFuckerForAShiteSoppyCard · 04/02/2009 22:21

ooh yes, like a nice woolly pantyliner

that should be the ticket!
