If your partner had been telling you hes working late on occasion for the last 4 months but you found out he hadnt he but instead had been going to the pub Instead (2-4 nights a week) and when you asked him about it he admitted it but also admitted he would of never of told you the truth then the following weekend said he was coming over (tonight) when your 5 weeks post op struggling and generally feeling awful (cant even change my bedding) while looking after 2 dcs (not his) but instead he chose to have a screen fitted into his van (which could of waited) and you call him and say you feel dissapointed he is going to be late too late to change the bed due to daughter being asleep and light sleeper and his response is to tell you to fuck off, hes sick of the shit - and then he answers again 30 mins later and its clear hes in the pub.. then he ends the relationship, again, tells you its done, blocks you and turns his phone off.. leaving you having a panic attack and heartbroken.. thats enough reason to accept it isnt it....

It’s over. And it should be, so keep it that way, he sounds like a twat. Sorry, OP.

Have you got family or a friend who can come and help you tomorrow? Can you get food delivered?

I don’t understand what you mean by should you accept it - he’s told you it’s over, what’s not to accept? He’s ended it. You don’t get a choice from that point. It sounds like a poor relationship that really deteriorated at the end. Maybe best it is over? Sorry you’ve been having a rough time, do you have friends or family who can help you at this time? I wouldn’t give him a second thought.

This man appears to bring nothing positive to your life. Be glad he’s gone.

I feel The reason you don’t want it to end is that you don’t have a support system - family and friends that can help you. It makes you vulnerable to accept this kind of behaviour. I hope you recover well. I was out for a few weeks last month after an op. I think I only managed to get on my feet as my partner was around and when he wasn’t, my mum stayed with me a few days.but I do get it about the bedding ect, I needed help too plus hanging the washing as I had abdominal surgery. Sending you a hand hold x

Stop putting yourself through this misery and don’t ever contact him again.
You can do it. Tomorrow IS a brandnew day 💐

Sorry that you don’t have much support in real life. You can always lean on people here. He sounds awful and sorry to say it but I really think you’ll be better off without him sweetheart.

DancingInPuddles · 24/07/2026 23:07

This sounds horrible. I say this a lot, but, if you were to list what you wanted in a relationship, would this be it? If yes, go for it! If not, and I suspect it’s not, then don’t settle for it. You deserve better.

Lougle · 24/07/2026 23:09

You deserve more. Sometimes it's one person's fault when a relationship breaks down. More often it's just a bad combination. Either way, you deserve more. Respect yourself enough to accept that this is not enough.

No, what you’ve got here is lies and disappointment. Is that what you’d put on your hinge profile? Please lie and disappointment me. I know that sounds glib, but it’s true. You wouldn’t ask for this, if you were creating your relationship wishlist. You deserve so much better.

I’m sorry you’re feeling so low. You won’t get what you want or need from this man. Flowers

Strangecat · 24/07/2026 23:58

2 years is a long time to be disappointed and lied too and not cared for. He clearly doesn’t care much to come help you when you need him the most! what’s the point of him? it will be hard at first to accept it’s over but be strong and do not take him back when he contacts you tomorrow and gives you a bit of attention! you are better than this! Focus on you, on getting better, your DC! the ones that deserve your time and energy!
